Thank you mate, really appreciate that feedback. I do know what you mean when you say boring. I had a 2020 XR and you know what...it was an incredible, incredible....but, did feel a little clinical, as in its just very good and precise. Almost too good.... that probably makes no sense but they are essentially the same bike, same engine etc. Have you taken one out yet? If not def do that first and see what you think. They are fast, fun and packed with tech. Cheers 🍻

Thank-you mate. I think they feel very similar. The S1000R is a little lighter so more agile and a fraction quicker as a result. Personally between the two I would chose the XR as you can just don't all and have the edge of comfort amd wind protection as well. That being said I now have a supercharged naked lol so go figure. Try them both and you'll favor one no doubt. Cheers 🍻

Well , I already have the XR Low. with my smaller stature ( 5’9” with 30in inseam) I am contemplating a lighter motorcycle. But as you correctly mentioned, XR is certainly a do it all motorcycle and I have barely scratched the surface. Since I do a lot of spirited ride in the twisties, I was thinking of a lighter, sportier , powerful and fun motorcycle.

Decided on this over a Ducati 950 S SuperSport - I wanted a 'fun' daily rider that isn't likely to get me killed in cold/rainy winters, and would be a blast on good-weather days the rest of the year. Sounds like I may have picked the ride motorcycle.

Hi Daniel, that's interesting, because I made the exact opposite choice last year between the previous generation Ducati SuperSport S (I bought a 2017) and the previous generation S1000R (my test bike was a 2020). I quite agree that the BMW is better as a daily rider, not in the least because of the more pleasant seating position (although the SuperSport is not terrible for a sports-oriented touring bike), but the Ducati does hold its own in cold and rainy weather. I ride my SuperSport through the winter (1-10 degrees Celsius weather, often wet) and it works alright. In fact, I also test rode a new generation Ducati SuperSport 950 S during horrendous rain and it had plenty of traction on offer. There will be a video of that test ride coming up on Lowfliers KZread channel if you're interested. I will grant it to you though that the S1000R is more comfortable in hot weather than the SuperSport, due to engine heat. Hope you're still enjoying your S1000R and wishing you fun with it!

Is power delivery linear or does spin grow fast with a kick? I had the new s1000rr and in low/medium revs it wasn't exciting..I saw some personal videos complaining..because the previous generation the acceleration was more abrupt, getting more exciting..
