Thanks for posting. I have the '21 RR. Installing end bars helped with the vibration a bit (specially with the lever guards installed) . Also, letting up a little bit on the handlebar grip makes a big difference. You can't always do that, but in a nice straight away, it does provide good relief. imho, ymmv. Great product by BMW. :)

@@patrickspapens5497 Ahh yes, helps with downforce at silly speeds on a naked bike tailored for road use rather than its sport bike track tool brother. That makes so much sense. Probably made from CF so is nice and expensive to replace if the bike has a little lie down more like.

  • @patrickspapens5497

@@stevecade857 well it has a dedicated track rider mode and even one for slicks. Nakeds can be ridden on track quite well actually. But most track or speed oriented bikes these days have either winglets or aero designed for downforce so i don't really get your point. It's supply and demand. People want what the pros are riding in the SBK and MotoGP, so that's what they deliver. The RSV4 and TuonoV4 factory I've ridden also had aero on them. Nowadays it's not always about functionality, if something looks cool people want it. How many ricers and car tuners ride around with massive wings, spoilers and bumper kits just to park their car at a meet and do some useless reving in the parking lot. Same thing.

How about an engine configuration comparison, V4 versus V2 versus inline 4 and triple? Listing the pros and cons of each. On the track that motor is absolutely amazing (in the S1000RR), I do worry about having that motor on the street. When I finished a weekend at the track on the RR I recall thinking "there's no way I'd buy one for the street... I'd never be able to use it". But having the front come up on the front straight well into triple digits... mind bending. I would like to see a head to head vs. the SFv4s... especially handling and braking since the Duc uses the premium Ohlins/Brembo kit.

Great review as usual. My M1000R arrives this week so looking forward to it. Had a V4 Streetfighter, loved it but fuel range was ridiculous. Ran out 3 times so sold it and got the V2 Streetfighter. Absolutely brilliant bike but no Ducati dealers in my area, service due and not long left on the warranty so getting my first Bmw. I heard the suspension was hard but that you can go into the settings and change the damping etc. Will soon find out. One thing, insurance is silly on these for some reason. Nearly double what my V4 was and I’m 64 ! Hope I can hang onto it !

Although most of these liter sport bikes you wont get a much over 100 miles if you are on the gas and thats only if you can stand a low fuel light . My Tracer 9gt easily gets 50mpg if I am just touring but in the twisties it plunges to a little over 30mpg and it is just low powered 900 in comparison ....I really think manufacturers need to put at least 5 gallon tanks on all liter class sport bikes They just wont cause they are in this spec war and another gallon adds several more pounds and maybe makes the bike look porkier depending on how they do it....Just saying the advertised ranges are a crock if anyone is playing constantly on their bike ....and I mean who isnt playin on these bikes? How does one not?

The HJR bar end mirrors that can be ordered through Dave Austin in the UK are really good and don't seem to have the vibration effects that the BMW ones do. They also look better. My 2021 S1000R Sports has been decat and dyno tuned. I put a radiator / oil guard, windshield on as extra mods. It's absolutely insane after the tune. Completely different bike and whilst I haven't ridden the new M, it is as you say outside affordability, and I will never be upgrading. Great video.

I tested the S one of these straight after testing the RR and found it more uncomfortable than the RR. Probably just me but those handlebars are just at position where it puts more strain on your back versus the full sportsbike position. Depends on the rider I guess. Great test Chopsy.

Yeah it's very aggressive riding position, I could see that for some people. Does show how comfortable the RR is though 👍

I've ridden both the '22 RR and this wekend the M1000R and i agree that the RR is much more comfortable. Dare I say the most comfortable supersport i've ridden so far.

Hi Chops. Fab video as always brilliant review... looks mean as fk.... how would you compare this to the SDR Evo??? Getting all very silly with the hp figures on very crap roads. Has Gregg tried it yet???

  • @LambChopRides

Yeah it's silly fast and really too much as its more useable than the RR. But... for a easy comfortable track / road machine its brilliant. Superduke probably a more sensible road machine though with softer more comfortable suspension setup

Hi Chops from New Zealand. Love the content mate. I'm about to buy a sports naked bike again and this is something i'm considering. The question i have is would you buy this over a Tuono or the KTM 1290? Different bikes i know. I had an S1000R and it was a bit to tame, great bike though.

I had the same dilemma recently, there are so many strong contenders in this category. I ended up going for the Tuono Factory and have no regrets, it's even better now that I've got the Akrapovich exhaust and the Aprilia race map (which gets rid of the horrible EU eco mapping). With the incredible sound of the Italian V4 now unleashed it's hard to imagine a bike that's more exciting, every time I take it out for a ride it's an occasion. Saying that, this M1000rr looks incredible and I really want to take one out for a test ride...

Ive been hankering after a decent, honest review of this. I thought it might be the perfect road bike with low down pull but insane bragging rights. I dont like the sound of a hard seat, hard suspension, poor tyres and wide bars. I know they can be rectified but hmmmm, tough forking out a fortune and then rectifying. Top review....other reviewers have mentioned the buzzing as well.

i've ridden one, the front and rear suspension are adjustable in the menu though, just like the S1000R and other bikes have this button on the handlebars, but the M1000R has the suspension settings in the bike menu. It can be set so that it auto adjusts the suspension to the ride mode you select. The seat of the one I rode was the M-seat. it was pretty decent but not comfy after 4 to 5 hours of riding

Love the looks, an amazing piece of engineering. However these bike are getting ridiculous for the road now. I’m gutted to be selling my V4 Tuono because like the bmw it eggs you on all the time. After 10k miles and 3 years of ownership I feel like I’ve survived and gotten away with my license and life. Best bike I’ve ever owned or ridden… being on the back wheel at 3 figure speeds has been amazing but it’s time to calm things down, I’m probably just getting too old 😆 Great review as always though chops 👍🏻
