I moved down from a 1250 GSA (my third GS) to a Multi V2S, never regretted it, it’s the sound, the looks and the whole riding/ownership experience. Next time it’s another Ducati, ideally a Multi V4S GT, it’ll be cheaper than a GS by the time I buy one. A standard V4S with radar is £2000 cheaper after dealer discounts and looks so much better.

Really depends on where you are. In Denmark, the Multi 4S GT (~57.000 EUR, yes you read that correctly) is still more expensive than the fully specced Beemer (~54.500 EUR). Then again, bike prices here are absolutely insane.

What i love about the 1300 gs is the fact that there is now a glut of 1250's as all the fan boys rush to upgrade. So my advice grab a fully specced 1250 for half price.

I tested the Trophy version of this bike. It's a good motorcycle. I currently ride a 2022 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. The BMW is more comfortable--seating, the reach to the handlebars, the position of the footpegs, and the wind protection are all superior to my Tiger. Low-speed U-turns feel less perilous than the Tiger, which feels taller and more top-heavy. The Tiger wins on the feel of the engine and drivetrain, though, and it feels more stable off-road due to the 21-inch front wheel. The BMW's boxer twin and quick shifter feel agricultural compared to the Tiger. If I was going on a long road trip, with 90% on pavement and only 10% on dirt, the BMW would be a better choice. If I was going to spend more than 25% of my time standing on dirt , I'd pick the Tiger. But, given the price difference, I find it hard to assess that the BMW is worth the difference. The Tiger is good enough on long trips, better on dirt and technical terrain, and a lot cheaper. Hard for me to say that one is "better" than the other--just depends on what you intend to do with the machine.

Got the Gs1300 2 weeks ago. It’s an easy alrounder wich has got finally sporty. Until now it’s difficult to find negative points. Mayby the shifter is a bit rough, and the adventure tires à bit loud. All the rest just perfect for at least of 98% of the riders. Some other bikes 4 one or the other spec. But in average, so for most riders, a swiss knife! For me it’s like an Audi RSQ8. If you can afford it, go and get it! KR

Like the new look, weight reduction, massaged drivetrain, features. But...what always turns me away is counting on a BMW - any BMW - to work all the time instead of being in the shop or inoperable on the side of the road. And whenever BMW adds features, especially electronics, it only piles on the angst because something WILL go wrong, and probably just after warranty and in some remote location (just look at ANY owner forum). I looked hard at a slew of bikes in the category and settled on (now, hear me out) a Super Tenere 1200, which is quietly back in their '24 lineup. Why? I rode it, really like how it felt/went/acted, and know FOR SURE it will NOT strand me or force me to know all about my mechanic's kid's progress in math class - not to mention it was a great deal. After an ECU flash and some travel-related mods, I'm not at all inclined to look back. Nice update with the GS, though.

A good, honest review...cheers. The GS1300, like it's predecessors, is an excellent adventure bike, and by 'adventure' I mean road adventures (touring etc) and not running off-road - no-one uses them off-road, and they're too heavy and expensive for that anyway! In terms of is the beemer the best; well, the Ducati is the best looking, I think a lot will agree with that; the Multi is also arguably the fastest and quickest through the twisties. The Tiger 1200 is a solid all-rounder with an engine that will make you sing...it also pulls like a train and handles very well...all that top-heaviness from previous gen Tigers has gone. I did 6500 miles on my "23 Tiger 1200 last year, including northern Italy and Normandy, and the bike was truly comfortable for all day riding while still being good for 'scratching' when required. So I don't know...which is best...I think it's like asking people what their favourite song is, 'it depends' would be my answer, and for me, money no blocker, it would be the Multi V4, followed by the Tiger...GS would be 3rd or 4th (not sure between it and the KTM)

I do like the Pan America just not quite enough to risk buying one. The big question for me. Can the new 1300GS get to Eagle Plains or Deadhorse on a tank of gas? Its a ride I plan to do again. My 1200 used 19.5 ltr and just made it. A Tiger 1200 can do it. I don't want the extra weight of a GSA.

Kinda makes me think of the Tiger 900 in the middleweight, I think also not the best in specific areas, but if it's your money and long miles and many years await ahead, that's what you buy. I like this iteration of the GS, glad they slimmed it down a bit.

What’s the point of two wheels if you can’t filter through traffic? From this viewers perspective they’ve become the two wheeled equivalent of an S.U.V and about as desirable… Give me a single 650 from 15 yrs ago with a top box, tank bag, no electronics and to hell with the soddin mobile - take memories not pictures? Of All bikes of this style that the Market offers, the GS 1300, is now the best choice for me. Love the new features, love the new looks, slimmer, more agile, in one word, modern. BMW bikes, if you Service them well, they are the most reliable bikes I ever had. Love Japanese bikes on the reliability quality too. But among the European and western world manufacturers, BMW, in my opinion, have the first place if we put it into a hierarchy, BMW comes on top. And this big adventure model, if I’m going to spent some important money on a bike, it would be my first choice. Comfortable enough, very sophisticated, and extremely fun to ride now, better than the predecessor 1250 GS version. I think that BMW has done a great job with this whole new big GS. I’m looking forward to see what have they done with the GSA…😎👌🏻

I would not agree with that that it is the best, I am happy for the success of the BMW concept, but there is not much talk about the problems they have. This can happen with any brand. Some caught fire during the test, and a large number of engines had to be replaced with BMWs. It's excellent in performance, that's why it has so many fans, and you never know, maybe I'll have a BMW someday too 😉. Big greetings to everyone and happy driving!

It's funny that not many people are mentioning the fact that BMW made the new 1300cc boxer engine more symmetrical to appeal to all boxerphobs before always one cylinder was more forward then the other now because one cylinder has the drive chain in front of the piston and the other is behind the piston the engine is almost synthetic!! Saying that if You like a boxer engine You will love the 1300cc if you can't stand the looks of it You will buy another bike. I'm a fan and as an ex R1100S owner. And I think the new R1300R/RS will be a really exceptional motorcycle. More power and torque than the R1250 with less weight than the GS.

This new BMW is stunning it has all the power you will ever need, you just don't need all that power the other bikes have, plus I love the automatic ride height that goes down when you slow down, plus the BMW has been tried and tested by Ewan Mcgregor and Charle Boreman all over the world so it's the BMW for me for sure

Hi, It all depends what you’re expecting from your bike, but for me this Gs doesn’t work well, I don’t like it’s vibrations, neither the rider position. Nevertheless, I noticed an improvement in the excitement department, good move! ...but still far below the KTM. For me, it is the KTM with no hesitation ! 😉

Looks? I am obviously in the minority based on your snicker in the video, but I think the Pan America is the best looking bike out of the bunch. Not a fan of beak bikes, or the mechanical insect from the future look.

Does it make people feel special to dunk on the GS?! If you like it or can’t afford it,don’t freakin buy it! Do you really think that manufacturers are only going to make products that YOU can afford to buy!? If that was the case, the only motorcycle available on the market would be the Honda Monkey! And I don’t own a GS or could really afford one either. Unless I wanted to make payments until the sun burned out.

The adventure bike segment is crazy. Paying 20k for 99.9% of riders to never go off road.😂. Props to their marketing team as they've brainwashed all the elderly in to thinking it's the best bike... the RS and R have always been better road bikes, which is what most UK owners use it for.

Is that fuel economy right, the Pan Am's only getting 42.75MPG? I have the Pan Am & I'm currently getting over 46mpg (5.11L/100Km), my overall average is 48mpg (4.9L/100K) with my best at 51.25mpg! All documented with numerous videos on my channel. I do a "Fuel Economy Update" video every week to 2 weeks depending on how much I ride to document my fuel economy to keep track for myself & so others can get an idea of what to expect. Also, my bottom barrel mpg numbers would put the theoretical range at 257 miles while my overall average of 48mpg would go 268miles, both beating all big bore ADV comers. I can't imagine with stricter emission regs (Euro5), you folks across the Pond would have worse fuel economy? Weird. Anyway, I love that 1300GS and would love to take it for a rip. Thank you for another top notch vid!

I'm not saying its a bad bike, we all know the GS, its BMW and how they charge extra for all the good stuff, stuff that comes as standard on many other bikes. £16k starting price, right, who buys that one(?), we all know its north of £20k once you spec it up to match many of its competitors.

It’s a monster why buy mega expensive bikes, I’ve been riding since 1964 I don’t know what to make of these very expensive motorcycle when I see these kind of bikes I think of all the great time I had on cheap fun bikes I’ve had that didn’t have to make me get a second mortgage. Or are all these things just for a new variation of technolust. Well not for me at least REnfield and Voge are going down the right way in my mind anyway. Also all this tech I find strange I use a piece of grey matter personal to me to make my riding safe.
