Only Ducati Scrambler I'd be interested in. You can tell the clip ons are raised above the triple clamp so the rider triangle is probably decent. Just wish it had about another 40hp.

It is very awkward, Scrambler is a sub-brand but so could Cafe Racer be also. A "Ducati Cafe Racer" sounds a lot cooler than a "Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer", and the tank branding would be tidier also. It's just market segmentation, so you don't get a "real" Ducati until you buy the bigger more expensive bikes.

Nice little vid. The Ducati CR concept is stunning. I think it'll do ok if they release it as the above the yoke clips-ons are all the rage these days. Most of the other cafe racer models were discontinued as they had proper low clip-ons. Anyway, either way, would love to see the Sport Pro 1100 engine in it too. Also totally agree it's daft calling it a Scrambler. It should say Ducati in large writing on the tank, not Scrambler. Doesn't ruin it obviously but a silly design choice imo.

Ducati's motocross bike, much like Triumph's, will probably open up an entire lineup of enduro style bikes. I owned a Fast house Desert Sled and while much more fun off road than my Tiger 1200 RE, it's no dirt bike. So, I guess it's not a big surprise the Desert Sled is no longer built.. The CR is gorgeous, but cafe racers are a hard sell.. at least here in the US, you can't use them as intended. Too many drivers texting, incredibly low speed limits, and the generally poor conditions of our roads all contribute to an unsafe riding experience.

The air-cooled 2-valve L-twin engines from Ducati hang on. And I'm glad of it, because they seem to be the only remaining powerplants they make that herald the sort of booming sound, syncopated idle, and thumping power delivery of what Ducati used to be known for. Their newer liquid cooled 4-valve units with all the bureaucratic crap stuffing them up, sound and feel nothing like the original. Maybe the 1098 and 1198 were the last of the high performance motors to carry that sound and feel. Yes things move along and they perform wonderfully, but the nostalgia of those booming twins of yore is something Ducati was always known for. Who wants to hear a 1000 Sport Classic with Leo Vince pipes rip past in a parking lot? I do.
