BMW's iX range has received an update for the 2024 model year, dropping the previous entry-level xDrive40 variant in favour of a 'new' xDrive50 model. In addition to the larger battery with improved range (upto 630km WLTP), it also gains 22kW AC charging but loses a few notable features to bring down the ask by some RM32k over the xDrive50 M-Sport to fill the void left by the iX 40.
Is this really what buyers want out of their price-leading iX, or is this a rationalisation exercise gone too far?
