00:18 Parking Assistant, standard equipment of BMW iX, helps the driver to select and use parking spaces either parallel or perpendicular to the road. Suitable spaces are detected using ultrasonic sensors as the BMW iX drives past. A new feature is the system’s ability to drive into perpendicular spaces forwards or in reverse. The latest version of the Parking Assistant can be used both to enter and exit spaces. As well as the necessary steering inputs, it now also carries out the acceleration, braking and gear changes required for the manoeuvre.
04:34 The Reversing Assistant BMW iX offers the highly convenient option of automated reversing in confined spaces or situations where the driver does not have a clear view, such as multi-storey car parks or entrances to courtyards. To do this, it stores the steering movements for any section the car has just driven forward along at no more than 36 km/h (22 mph). The system is then able to reverse the vehicle for distances of up to 50 metres by steering it along the same line it took when moving forward. All the driver has to do is operate the accelerator and brake pedals and monitor the vehicle’s surroundings. The Reversing Assistant can back the car up automatically at a maximum 9 km/h (5.5 mph).

In a confined spot, the reversing help appears to be really useful.
Great tests, my UK dealer couldn't even tell me what Level 3 autonomy functions the car has!! This seems to be a car that does more than is published in brochures (there's stuff the car does that boggles the mind, all underpinned by technology that is space age. The parking must use SLAM...

All BMW need to do now is for the car to drive to the local charging station _(If you've not got one at home!)_ and for the car to charge itself, then come home 8-))...
Would have been good to show which buttons you press to get into Auto Parking mode

You can’t really to be honest. It’s a very good video but there’s different models and they don’t all have the configuration of the car you are using here
