I've been watching your videos for a while now, and they have been good, BUT this one has really been informative, for the sort of 8.5 things and tips I should be expecting when my X5 50e comes in. Yes, it has been ordered, and I do have a VIN, yea!!

Many Thanks, it could be that I'm of a certain age but I'm finding the interiors of certain cars becoming more & more overwhelming!! Picked up my new M240i recently, love the car but it will take me time to get used to iDrive 8, having owned nearly every BM on the market in my humble opinion they got it spot on with iDrive 7!! Peace From London!! 🙏🙏

Just found you and your video, great walkthrough. I've been waiting for my i4 for almost 2 years. But according to BMW (Sweden) it is finally on its way. And as I understand it cars built from July 2023 and forward will come with 8.5 and not 8. I'm coming from a 330e and find the iDrive 8 to be lacking in lots of ease of use functionality which 8.5 mitigates. 8.5 is a more complete release than what 8 is. I'm currently driving a loaner i4 from BMW until my car arrives as a compensation for the car being so late. I was not about to leave a comment or like or sub, just about to leave the video whenI listened to your words about subs. For me it is not begging, anybody familier with KZread knows how important all these likes and subs are. Since you asked so kindly I felt like it was a small gesture to sub and like the video. 🤘😎 I look forward to you hitting 100k subs and will from now on be waiting for new content. Best of luck! Really hope my i4 comes with 8.5 from factory! 🙏

Also how do you tune in the FM radio stations. Hope to get the 5 series early next year, My first BMW. Thanks again. Kevin in the UK.

LOVE!!!! THANK YOU!!! This is the BEST review as of yet. Quick question. For heated seats and steering are you able to one touch level 3 and one touch off. Or do you have to triple click. Also can the drive controller control any ac functions?

    1) annoyingly it’s still 3 touch for off like the hard buttons were, steering wheel in the x5 is the only one touch on one touch off button. And yes you can use iDrive controller to activate and navigate the climate controls

Hello! Just found your channel. Great info! I have a question. I have a 2024 i4. I set up the BMW ID and connected everything to the car. My car unlocks and locks when I get near the car and when I leave. The problem is, every single time I get into the car, it automatically goes to Guest. I have to scan the QR code every single time I get in the car. I am the only user. How do I get my car to go to my profile every time I get in so I don't need to use the QR code and put my phone on the charger?

Appreciate your informative videos! I found the heated seats not very hot, and I think that's because of some settings and the outside temperature not being that cold. Is there a way to turn off climate control (no ac, no heat) and still have heated seats be as hot as possible? Think I read you have to turn "Auto" mode off, then you can turn fan to off manually and set heated seats to level 3?

  • @BMWofFW

@@BMWofFW, you can actually disable hvac and still use heated seats! To do so, you turn "Auto" off on climate and then you can turn down the fan to 0/5, and you can still turn up the heated seats to any level (1 bar, 2 bar, 3 bars).

Will the 2024 G20 LCI 3 series get iDrive 8.5? I've seen a lot of conflicting information online about this. Thinking about building a 2024 M340i but not sure if it will get 8.5 or not. If the 2024 M340 is stuck on ID8 like the 2023 is then I might just pick up a 2023 instead. If the car is built after July, it should get 8.5 right?

The interior will get new materials, trims, glass knobs, Iconic Glow kidneys will become available as an option, there will be new wheels. US and Korea will get B48 and B58 TÜ engines (on paper, there will be 7hp bumps for 320i and 330i, and 7hp loss for M340i). 11/25: In EU, all diesel engines will be brought to EU7 compliance.

How do we get a split-screen navigation in iDrive 8 or 8.5??? I want the screen split like in previous versions to show “North Always Up” on the right screen and “Heading Up” on the main left screen. Ease of use and future proofing more effectively. Removing buttons yes cuts costs but means less to maintain, less to break, greater longevity, fewer potential long term problems. While they are constantly berated for their spartan interior, Tesla’s were good in long term review because of freer interior buttons according to consumer reporting. Not sure I agree with the assessment, but what ya gonna do

Climate control - can u pls try this,. While being in driver seat, n not taking your face near to the fan blower/ vent , can u try to get the air pumped towards your face with both the controls? N tell the global audience if the air is really blowing to your face? Looks like there is a glitch with the design,. I tried on my Toyota Camry which is 1/4th of the cost of a BMW, n the air blowing pressure is tremendous, compared to a 100 grand car like BMW,. Someone can soon make a video showing the comparison of the air blow between diff cars using a piece of paper, for practical measuring,.

looks nice, but: just as those stupid touch panels on your modernistic stove this climate control solution is total crap and not easy to use. You just need some physical knobs for things like that. Same on the Tesla. D-N-P-R is just too important in a vehicle to just put it in the corner of a touchscreen. And anyway, I hate using those touchscreens in cars that does not feature iPad grade anti-fingerprint coating. It just looks awful after every usage and the smears make it hard to even read it in most sunlit conditions.
