BMW G 310 GS Rallye | Used Bike Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Our resident Dakar rider Neil Hawker checks out a used mini adventure bike the BMW G 310 GS Rallye. Is this a good budget way to get into adventure biking, you might not be entering the next Dakar Rally on it. Don't forget to update your details if buying a used bike with a ‪@DatatagID‬ system already fitted.

Great bike, I can’t praise mine enough. No problems in 14k miles. What more do you want for the price? It’s a 300 ffs. Unbeatable in its class.

I have a 2023 and I really like it. It's a great bike to learn on and get used to if your goal is a bigger GS. Even if it isn't your goal it's still a great bike. It's awesome for the city!

The Himalayan´s engine produces more power in the lower rpms while the BMW ´s engine needs higher revs for the same torque. In my opinion the Himalayan is the smoother off road and more relaxed bike while the BMW needs more aggressive riding style.

@@tinymotogarage Because the expectation that there MIGHT be problems around those mileages is a damning commentary on the garbage we are expected to put up with when buying motorcycles nowadays. There is far too much acceptance of bad design/manufacture on motorcycles nowadays. Far too much 'throw money at it' to make a bland bike decent. It's a joke. In the rush to appear like a bargain, manufacturers are making bikes that are not really fit for purpose until the suspension is upgraded etc. I've been riding bikes for a long time now, and this is more and more common nowadays, and folk put up with it. But hey, you have your opinion on the commentary and I have mine.

I would probably not recommend it for you (unfortunately, because I find it great). I have one, it's my beginner bike and maybe a forever bike too. I'm 5'8" tall, 31" inside leg, 75kg. My 310GS has the lower (which is also narrower) than standard seat option from BMW, and also has the suspension lowered by about 20mm at each end. When stopped I'm on the balls of my feet, which I find OK with the bike being as lightweight as it is, but I would not want the seat to be any higher. I think you'll probably find the seat height too tall, even with all the same lowering that my bike has. You won't want to be struggling to get enough of your feet down to hold the bike upright every time you come to a stop. The best way to be sure for yourself is to go to a dealer, sit on one & discuss with them. I sat on & talked about tons of bikes in different manufacturers' showrooms before deciding what to buy - it was time very well spent.
