    Congrats on your bike. I’m a previous owner of same bike which I really enjoyed. Only changed bikes to get more wind protection for longer rides. The buzzing you have which makes the mirrors unusable at highway speeds was the same for me. Enjoy your adventures, safe riding.

    I have a 2013 F800GT which I started running on super unleaded and found the vibrations weren't as bad. It takes a tank or two for it to settle down.

    @@relph3 awesome... I was all about the 2014 Triumph Speed Triple but I don't need a motorcycle just for performance... I want some sportiness, some traveling and enjoying going to work on a bike and a roadster suits me fine... I still want an R9T and an R1200R lol but for now, it's this one. Thanks for replying and by the way I love the Nuda ;)

    @@PedroDVC I bought the F800R because of the experience of owning the Nuda900R, they share the same engine design which is bullet proof and the same to service too. Do you know the engine has three con. rods. lol

    Hi Just picked up my 2014 f800r was humming and haring over getting one and you made my mind up, after two hours on it i can say i was very surprised on how good they are mine is the one previous to yours, people had told me they were slow and boring but realistically there the ideal bike for just riding around, one last thing have you a link for the luggage on the back as my top box looks well crap if you reply that would be great may have to call you an influencer cheers wayne.

    Hi, I must agree with you about being surprised how good these F800Rs are. I don't know why they seem to be a bit under rated. My bike came with a 19 tooth front sprocket (OE for the R) but since making this video I have changed to a 20 tooth front sprocket and new chain which seems to have dampened down the 70mph vibes through the handlebars. Opening up the throttle in top gear from about 40 mph to about 100mph the power just keeps on pulling strong right through the rev range. You should be able to buy the rear pack through eBay or Amazon. (eBay item number: 383783951017 or Amazon UK item number B07T8H8CWS)

    Thanks for the review, very informative. Whats it like on the back roads? Where I live has lots of small and potholed roads until I get onto the better roads, so how does it cope with this type of lanes please?

  • @relph3

    @relph3

    2 жыл бұрын

    I live near the Peak District, a lot of the the roads I use are back lanes and narrow roads with pot holes etc. Overall I have not had any reason for concern when using my F800R because the bike has a low centre of gravity and is a relatively small bike. Maybe an F800GS could be better for back lanes but then you may have to compromise in other situations ie the GS has a taller seat height.

    @@relph3 thanks for your reply, I’m in rural Devon and it’s about a mile to the nearest decent road with some tarmac on! I’m only 5’10” with a 30” inside leg so the height suits me and the low centre of gravity sounds like what I’m after, it’s a toss up between this and an SV650. Thanks

  • @relph3

    @relph3

    @@pshotton3752 One last point for you to consider. My F800r has solidly mounted handlebars, I don't know about the SV650 but my Nuda 900 (which is essentially based on the F800GS) has rubber mounted handlebars and this alone makes a difference to the feeling through the bars on badly surfaced roads with pot-holes.

    @@XASK As far as I am aware in 2017 (the year mine was first registered) there was three variants of the F800R.. A basic version easily recognised without a rear luggage rack and a front of engine shield. A mid version which has some factory options fitted as standard ie Rear Rack but I think has two riding modes. A Sport version (which mine is) which has most factory options fitted as standard but also has lower handle bars and a Sports Mode for the electronic rear suspension.
