Why can't he run the starter while the glow plugs are still at max temperature? I'm here yelling at the screen for him to crank it while the plugs cool off to room temperature before he finally turns the engine over. Kids these days...

Glow plugs stay on for like 2 minutes

A lot of cars with poor maintenance or not proper diesel. Change the glowplugs, fuel filters and make sure to have proper winter diesel in the tank...

i had e46 330d 150kw facelift, al 6 sparkplugs new and new modul and when was cold more than -7 it started badly, still dont know why.

@@bombarder16 low compression for sure, i can start my car wihout glowplugs with -4, and start like champ, just smoke a bit on the first seconds.

6:07 ist falsch. Ist kein Diesel, sondern Benzin. Ist sogar ein e38 und kein e39. Habe 728i und 740i beide als Handschalter vom Werk.

when i turn the key in my diesel it runs. even at -25°C. all these cars have bad glow plugs

Свечи по два раза лучше не греть на новых моделей свеча на 6 вольт а блок управления подаёт 12 вольт вот почему быстро гаснит лампочка накала. У знакомого после двух прогрева свечей вздуло свечю в шарик и оторвола . Итого побитый поршень и замена головы !!!

Jetta Diesel? Sounds good. Also, not only BMW but a lot of diesel cars or petrol cars, have issues when starting up at low temperatures.

VW makes better diesel engines than BMW. BMW is great at making gasoline engines.

@@jakarat2502 BMW has one of the most reliable diesel M47, . M57 engine high torque power and very very reliable, VW only has the 1.9TDI which was good 2.0tdi is garbage 3.0tdi its ok but it has a lot of issues...

At 6:57 It's not a 6-cylinder diesel. You can tell from the speedo that it's a 4-cylinder. Also fyi it's pre LCI, which means it's a M47 engine.

No you are wrong. Its a BMW M51 engine, after the light goes out, the glow plugs are still heating.
