BMW E65/E66 Lights control module (LM/LM2) removal for replacement

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is location in BMW E65/E66 2006 where lights control module is installed.
I have replaced LM module to newer version LM2, to get additional functions.
LM2 allows the following major functions:
- Welcome Lights (choose any set of lights to come on when you unlock car)
- Cornering lights
- Angel Eyes (or any other lights) as DRL (Daytime Running Lights)
Be sure to replace with correct model version:
LWR - Standard version
AHL - Adaptive Headlights version (Headlight moving left/right)

My 2003 745Li E66 had trunk release, hazards, fog lights, hi beams, blinkers,& maybe parking brake and third tail light not working. Removed light module. Found where two drops or so of water had hit the circuit board. You could see just a tiny bit of green corrosion. Used spray can of electronics flux cleaner and old toothbrush to clean entire board. Then spray down board without brush. Reinstalled and all functions started working!!!! Ignition was off and battery was connected during module disconnect/reconnect.

My H7 halogen hi beams I thought should work for Hi beam. They are just flash for pass.

nsacrooks my 07 750li has an issue where my brake lights are staying on, would this be a symptom of a bad light module? I’ve already replaced the brake light switch, wondering if this would be my next step.

Thanks for showing the part number. I have an '04 and was wondering if an '03 LCM would work for my year?

    Yes it will work.

Andrius Čiginskas Just called two dealerships today and they said it would take 3 hours to code/program the LCM and cost $600. Crazy!!

All you need to do is put your VIN and VO to new module, then code default parameters. If you have INPA cable you can do it yourself.

Andrius Čiginskas Okay, thanks. One more thing.. When I install the replacement, will it change the mileage on the dashboard? Or will that stay the same

  • 6 жыл бұрын

No, it will not change mileage.
