BMW E46 M3 S54 Vanos Seals DIY (S54 Vanos- Part 3)
The vanos is a known weak point for the e46 m3 s54 engine. We address preventative repairs by changing out the oil pump disk with a redrilled one from Beisan Systems as well as replace all of the vanos seals, hub sprocket bolts, spring diaphragms, various o-rings and gaskets, anti-rattle kit, and verify proper timing in this video series.

I went with the beefed up Turbo toy exhaust hub with bigger tabs and used the original pump disk replaced all seals with beisan, solenoid, upper plastic chain guide, mine was broken😨. And all upgraded bolts

It’s giving me so many issues and I’ll probably have to replace the battery (2k 😭) It’s for a 2015 M4 and need a recommendation on what to buy , I bought a ctek trickle charger but it seems to be too dead to even charge with that.

hey i have a question that has nothing to do with the video. I was wondering i have a problem with my X5 2008 4.8 V8 the car runs like rpm goes up and down like crazy we changed the electrique cables everything was good and came back 1 week later, we change therefor change the throttle pedal was good 1 week and came back now its gone again... i realized that when its cold the issue comes but when the temp goes up like 8degre and up no issue. now is it the throttle body or i dont know what else to do. Im about to change the throttle body but i dont want to do it if thats not the issue. the throttle budy on my X5 is an electronic one...

Good DIY Video I learned a few things but one thing you said that is totally incorrect there's no way unless those bolts on the sprockets shear off completely can you get a failed motor they are protected by a plate in front of them they have nowhere to go I know because I changed mine out and three of them we're broken and the other three were loose so when he starts making that kind of noise especially at idle it's kind of a shearing metal to metal noise you know you need to go in there and inspect those timing gears and mostly likely it's the intake change out both UCF graded bolts and the right loctite and you're good to go but do not ignore that noise it's not your common rattle or knocking it's a whole different noise beware it can hand grenade and you will lose your motor
