BMW E36 M3 BC Racing Coilovers Track Tested!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In our continuing effort to make Moose's Euro-spec E36 M3 a better track day car for the big man to enjoy, we installed a set of BR-series coilovers from BC Racing Canada and as a result its lap time dropped by 2.2-seconds at Toronto Motorsports Park.

    I think those rear springs were installed upside down. Otherwise, with the way it's placed, the ride height can't be adjusted. I just installed mine today and forgot to install the factor rubber shims. Gotta throw my alignment into the backlog now! Great video, really helped with navigating the install process.

    I and my brother made Bmw drift missiles first we did spring chop. When we got some cheap coils dampening non adjustable. So we installed that hard shock and putted in coilover spring with out ride colar and ride was actually the same. Also harder coilover spring and harder absorber on rear wheels reduced wheel hop and i was able to shred in 3rd

    Imo US spec e36 m3 is still over rated, 328i and US m3 are too close to each other. luckily moose's m3 is euro spec but sadly after seeing coil cover and vanos unit, it is older gen euro s50b30, with 286 hp. Euro S50b32 is more desired with 321 hp

    Swaybars only work in roll, springs and dampers work both in roll and in pitch and dive. Swaybars are a secondary tuning device for roll stiffness, but the springs set the baseline.

    yes but only the slap ons all the dudes at my track icar told me they weld extra metal to the towers because there's too little metal and eventually the stress cracks the towers because of stiff setups.

  • @andrewd2911

    @andrewd2911

    6 жыл бұрын

    The weight of the car is transferred to the chasis sheetmetal thru the separate spring, this the bulk of the stress/load. The separate Damper/shock adds little load to the chassis. The shock tower reinforcememt plate should be fine. A number of track focused cars do a true coil-over conversion, with the spring and shock bolting up where the shock sits. This requires substantial (Welded) reinforcement of the whole area. . The Weak spots in the rear of the car are where the Sub-frame bolts up (Already reinforced from the factory ...because M3), the trailing arm pockets and the sway-bar mounts. These will be welded in at a later date
