Big shoutout to you. Saved me today in an auto store parking lot after replacing my battery. Heads up to people I tried to use a memory saver to play it “safe” connected from a power source into my obd reader. It’s supposed to keep the computer on so nothing gets wiped. Well turns out BMWs are above having any help and it blew my obd fuse. I would have never guessed this. Swapped fuse, cleared codes and it’s been perfect since. Thank you!

That’s exactly what happened to this car as well.

So my BMW 750 sat in my driveway for about 2 months because I thought I finally needed a new alternator. A BMW dealership replaced a 2-year old battery. Then, the car "died" the next day! After trying to start the car with a 1500A jumper, I checked all fuses in the rear with a circuit tester, which were good. But I couldn't reach all the fuses in the glove box. Hesitating to get my vehicle towed to the dealership as scheduled, I googled "BMW battery and fuses" and saw this video yesterday. I showed it to my hubby, and he then had his had mechanic that works on his classic cars come right over. They took off the glovebox door, replaced that fuse, charged the car, then checked the voltage with ignition off that read 12.7V (as expected with a brand new OEM battery) and 14.6V while running! The BMW dealership told me $2,400 to change the alternator ($1,200 for the Bosch alternator and the rest for the labor). My hubby's mechanic charged $20,

Hey I am trying to register my new battery for BMW 2004 x5 due to the last one being overcharged from not being registered but keep getting a error saying “this vehicle does not support this function” I went to the reset procedure and in the general info tab it says “ disconnecting battery may erase memory from engine, necessitating at least one drive cycle to be completed to restore drivability.” Does this mean that I must complete all emission monitors tests in order to register my battery? Please respond I have been at it for months and it feels like I just keep going in circles. Obd scanner used zurich zr11s
