I bought a 340i xDrive Touring half a year ago. Lovely car. I'm not someone who speeds or anything, so I mainly bought it for the sound and smooth engine, 9.5l during winter without start/stop is pretty good, I think.

I have the same and it doesn't sound anywhere close to that. Resonator delete, different muffler, straight pipe? I'm biased, yes. But this car is the definition of value for your money imo. Drives awfully well for a car I paid 22k (euros) with only 76k km. So far so good 🤞

Interesting video! Nice to see some regular cars for a change... I have a 2013 F25 BMW X3 with this engine on it and also with a stage 1 tune. My engine's figures (217hp & 460Nm) are really close to what this particular car has. The interesting thing to me is being able to compare practically the same engine-transmission (i'm assuming this is an automatic) combo on 2 different car body types. Of course the SUV was going to be slower (worse aerodynamic coefficient and more weight), but it's good to see by how much. For anyone else interested in this kind of numbers and comparison, my car does 0-100 in about 7.2 - 7.3s, 1/4mile around 15.3-15.4s @ 143-144 km/h and 0-200 in about 40-41s. So evenly matched up to 100km/h but after that the SUV body takes its toll. Cheers

Some diesels have nice powerband till 5000 other die at 4000. You feel when you go full throttle when it dies out. My volvo pulls quick till 4500 then stops. So I shift at 4500 redline when I wanna go fast

If you get that speedometer to show 260kmh... I bet GPS show something about 220kmh.

That touring didn't use launch control. Launch control can shave off 0.5-1s to 100km/h.

Watching from the US where we don’t get these diesels. I actually would prefer if we could get diesel even though they are not so clean. There is something about a Diesel engine.... you can drive the hell out of it and it seems to last so much better than gasoline. Plus better fuel economy and tons of torque. I was impressed with this car here how it had over 155k in kilometers but yet it ran smooth as a Swiss watch at over 140 mph. I would love to have an SQ7 with the diesel V8. Like driving a tank with a jet engine

So i don’t think it has 8 gears and if it did the top speed would have dropped instead of increasing because it would need more power for its weight and aero to reach higher speed. Go play forza even that game will teach you about cars because it doesn’t seem like you do. Have a good day/night whatever time it is wherever you are.

Got a 2016 335d m sport shadow edition with m performance kit. Stock was about 316 Bhp, remapped I'm getting 405 bhp with 796 Nm torque. Brought it to nurburgring 2 years back and was easily keeping up with 911 Gt3s and m4s. Brought it on Autobahn and got 196 Mph. Reckon I could of got 198 if I kept it going for long enough.

At least there is not a lot of smoke

From my point of view, it seems to me that to this BMW to be faster is to add some tires a bit bigger so that the 7th gear at 230km/h is instead of 4,500rpm it goes down to 4,200rpm so it works with greater power Since the Engine delivers all the Power from 3,500rpm to 4,500rpm for how it is seen that the gear shift happen between that range. Anyway good Diesel 4 Cylinders Sound and power.

What have you been smoking? I need some of that shit too. 😂 When you do that, you will only increase the deviation between the real speed and speed shown on the speedometer. Also putting bigger wheels/tires on a car will increase the power loss on the drive train. Basicaly, at the end of the day, you will only be slower. Anyway... there is an easier solution. He could of manualy shifted to the 8th gear. Its a ZF8 gearbox. :)

@@ThenameisOskar If you do not understand the mechanics of a Diesel, That 320d 2.0 engine in Stock makes 184hp up to 4,000rpm, if you go past 4,000rpm the power goes in Fall and not counting that the Torque is 380nm from 1,750rpm to 2,750 rpm, and if it were Modified I do not see that the maximum power exceeds 4,000rpm when seeing that the changes do not rise more than 4,500rpm since higher up it is working with less power. not like a Gasoline that has a better power curve, so if you are looking for bigger tires like 1mm to 3mm maximum (if you add very big wheels there if you have a lot of loss), it will help lower the rpm and it will work with more engine power and + power = more speed. or I have to speak to you in another language, go to an Automotive Mechanics school before commenting.

Is that a joke? Wet, muddy winter European roads will get the car dirty in 5 minutes. I literally haven't bothered to wash my 320d Touring since about August because every time I move it, it just gets dirty again.

Why so slow? I would expect a 215hp 320D to hit 100kph in under 7s. Mine does and it's 9 years old.

No clue who was driving this car, but do you even know how a diesel engine works? There is no point in pushing a diesel engine so hard. After 4500 rpm its basicaly dead...

You dont know how that car behaves till you drive it ;). Some die at 4500. Some pull for a few more revs. Bmw's like to rev.

Why 163hp normaly has a 320d Pre-facelift has 184hp and the facelift 190hp. The BMW E90 320d pre-facelift has 163hp

It has a 8th gear, but when you put it in sport it doesnt shift up to 8th gear. In 8th gear at 240km/h its at 4000 rpm iirc.
