I've heard the whole album, but I can't understand a lot of mature lyrics because I am too young and dumb. But this one is hitting me the right stuff. After all, I am like a coward puppet, putting the headphones to avoid tenement blocks crushing humming, hiding the newsfeed, hoping a few dear persons and I will survive (or at least they can do it without me). I can't stop this horror by energetic way because I'm too empty for this hard work and I know I won't stop it with my hands getting involved into the act because I am too soulless egoistic asshole (let this meaning here for the others, but there are something more) and I know it will be kind of different soon (a little bit of unsubstantiated optimism can help). In this morning Damon beat this animal and leading him into a lump in his throat. The man who quite well understand that can hit the right stuff to any lost soul. Thank you Blur, from Ukraine with love.

@@gmmgmmg There's an article with Damon where he discusses this Blur album and says that he feels that subconsciously Bowie lives on through him, and he finds himself channelling Bowie through his songs now. This is why I think the first five lines of the lyrics to this are to Bowie, mainly because of 'Where are you now', a nod to Bowie's famous 'Where are we now' single. No idea about the blue, blue, electric blue bit - I personally can't hear any similarity to Sound and Vision. I think the last track on the album, The Heights, is more Bowie. It uses the opening guitar chords to Space Oddity and Damon's vocals definitely do channel Bowie quite blatantly.

Why do so many Ukrainians talk about the war, but they are in Europe, or sit at home and constantly write something on social networks? pretty ballad. 1:40 just rocks my world. Kind of shaking my head at how Jimmy Buffett soft-rock they sound like at times in this album so far, but the reality is they’re in their mid-50s, I’m not sure what I was expecting, they were never gonna reinvent the wheel here. Grade: C+

brilliant juxtaposition of what I assume is the natural nature of russia and its national aptittue to fight ... and the nature of the west to be complacent to just listen. And the manner in which it is presented. !!!! " i will be hitting the hard stuff". will never be the same!!! indeed thank you damon albarn brilliant!!! by the way... LOL. I made that up. But the song is super cute and super emo brilliant stuff though.

NO. They don’t know about humanism and don’t deserve mentioning in world music! "Russian Strings" ultimately portrays a longing for genuine human connection, a reflection on the fragile nature of our existence, and a recognition that in the end, all we have is the present moment.

Дуже люблю як Blur так і Gorillaz( навіть був на концерті в Києві в 2018му) і наче ж вони робили пости у нашу підтримку. та всеодно якось все це мене заплутує:(
