Chris is a poet and philosopher. He’s a genius. He’s very Ill but still here. Pls keep him in ur prayers.
Surely the world's most overlooked artist - a legend in Russia, a star in Europe, loved by quite a few in Australia... perhaps my eduring favorite - Chris Rea's music needs to part of all our bluesy, cruisy, beachy, sometimes rocky, whimsical and poetic lives.
His song “On the Beach”…..the sound of summer

Love this man-his voice, guitar playing, songwriting. Don't know how I missed hearing this one. It is so lovely, it almost made me cry. Please do more. He has an extensive library. You're thinking of Louie Armstrong.

Such a beautiful song!
Chris Rea is a 'Boro Boy' like me from Middlesbrough. In the sixties, I'd meet with friends at his dad's cafe 'REA'S CAFE' great times.
my favorite artist, thanks for this reaction
His songs bring peace to the end of hectic days.. His voice is gravel, whiskey and honey.. He simply is beautiful.. ❤❤❤

Chris Rea..... Road to Hell, Blue Cafe, Fool if you think it's over, Auberge, Josephine, On the Beach, Driving home for Christmas.
very, very, very underrated artist and guitarist, this man is wonderful
I haven't listened to Chris in a long time. I always like his song Texas.
Chris Rea is a poet who happens to be one of the worlds best guitarists. How unique to set your poetry to music. If ever you want a great night listen to his road to he'll album
one of my favorites artists Rea
He's probably less well known in America but you may have heard his voice before on a song like 'Driving Home For Christmas'. He's from the North East of England where they have a distinctive accent. He has that husky quality for sure but it's also about a relaxed, laid back delivery. He might remind you of another North East singer, Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. Another singer from that region that predates both of them is Eric Burden of the Animals.

Yes - he sounds like Geordie Eric Burdon here.
In the UK he's best known for the song Driving home for Christmas.
Been a fan since i was 16. I am 50 now. Seen him live several times. Music to my life. Awesome!
Magic. Pure talent ❤❤❤❤
You are the first one I have seen to react to this individual. He is very talented with 100's of songs to his name. He did a whole history of the blues and wrote the entire 10 cd's of music. Try some songs off his Auberge album from 1991... exceptional cuts!
maestro
I live in the North of England we are in the middle of a heatwave! Unbelievable. ❤
Once there was a Summer Love.😊 Enjoy! Also the Road to Hell c.d. (sweet 🎸)
Legend from my neck of the woods in the North East of England, I'd recommend his song Road To Hell ✌️👌🔥
Underrated guitarist,songwriter with gruff vocals!
waved goodbye to my best friend as he faded away, what a great line.
Chris Rea is amazing😊😊🥰
That final guitar solo!!!! GOLD
Thank you so very much for showcasing Chris Rea! Way underrated. Thank you! Thanks from Puerto Rico
Love it! A great artist, i was remember the good old summers with a lot of sun, beaches and see. Thank you!

Gary, It's like the Fender is just an extension of the Man himself. Mystical.
From the NorthEast of England. Same world as Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) , Paddy McAloon (prefab sprout)and Brian Johnson (AC/DC).Great northern singers!
"The Road To Hell", is a great song by him, and also has bluesy/rock slide style guitar playing. It's also more of a catchy song than this. He had a hit in the U.S. with "Fool If You Think It's Over", also a good song.

Wow, thanks for this. So many memories.
Its been sunny hot and humid here in Canada. Love Chris! He is amazing. He's done so much great music! 🎼🎵🎶🇨🇦
Thanks.
A mixture of Louis Armstrong ( the voice) and Mark Knoffler of Dire Straights ( guitar). Chris has a song you might also appreciate on those cloudy days.... On The Beach. Enjoy
Also think about reacting to his "Looking for the Summer"
Beautiful song.... fantastic singer- musician.... love watching how you enjoy each note of the songs...... great reaction ,, thank you Rogue......
Is a good song Chris is a master. You really need to hear the road to hell aurberge and Texas superb masterful
Are you thinking of Louis Armstrong? Well, I was captivated by that gentle guitar! That and the lyrics of the song. Really loved this. Your eyes were sparkling like that guitar when you listened to this song.

thanks for taking the time to listen to Chris. He is fantastic and from very close to where i was born. A Boro lad. Listen to his blue stuff and his last album, his voice has changed for sure but is still brilliant. Pleased you enjoyed this. Listen to his bunch of albums 'Blues Guitars' too
Nineties blues is one of my favourites 😎👌🏼 Road to Hell is the one you may have heard also.
since you love the blues checklout joe cocker blues medley
I would love you to react to any track by UK songstress, Elkie Brookes, especially ''Fool If You Think It's Over'' which was written by Chris Rea.
I found him from the song ON THE BEACH.
Check out 'On The Beach', 'Josephine', and 'Auberge'.👀. Won't be disappointed. 😊

May I suggest you listen to Let's Dance, Down on The Beach and one of my fave Christmas songs, Driving Home For Christmas. Chris is totally awesome, and a great multi instrumentalist.
I only saw four rock or pop concerts in my life: Sinead O'Conner when she was young, Chris Rea, The Waterboys and Leonard Cohen. Once's in your life, you have to listen to "This is the see" from The Waterboys. I like your style.
Do yourself a favour and listen to some of his albums, the album tracks are superb. A strangely under valued artist, for all his success. His, What ever happened to Benny Santini, album in particular :)
Chriscrea's voice is mark lanegan's voice..without the darkness
Wow Chris Rea is so off the radar! Road to Hell is a killer song. The intro is really long but pretty important. Diverge, Texas and others are great. He did one in the 70’s called “Fool if you think it’s over”. Pretty big hit for him. He and Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) are pals, go figure. Lol

If you liked this I know you'd like Eva Cassidy - Autumn Leaves, Field of Gold, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Songbird, Take Me to the River - she has a style all her own I know you would love. Her guitar playing is like an angelic choir, particularly in Over the Rainbow - she will touch your soul. I promise.

Wonderful reaction to some music I love. If you havnt already done it, you’d love Bonnie Raitt w/Bruce Hornsby “I can’t make you love me”
Wow this was a pleasant surprise thanks for the reaction. I’m sorry this ain’t no Louie Armstrong he sounds a bit like Tom Waits. I thought Derek Trucks was the king of the slide guitar but I think this guy could hold his own. The piano intro reminds me of “Desparato” by the Eagles. Once again thanks for reacting!

Joe, I've seen Derek in concert with his wife Susan & he might be the best, but I have a real soft spot for Chris. He's a ''wounded old fighting dog'' like me. Cheers!
Did you know that he married his childhood sweetheart and they're still together after marrying in 1968. He is 72 now and he is still performing. After a life threatening illness, which his wife nursed him through, this is him still in action - kzread.info/dash/bejne/fa2VydaGkcrQerg.html - still rockin'!
If you get into Chris rea he's got over 15 cd's out he's been around a long time
Chris Rea is an excellent musician and vocalist. Road to Hell and Auberge are probably his best 2 known songs. However, you should dig a little deeper. Looking For The Summer kzread.info/dash/bejne/c2yVmM2BgbGfcqQ.html And Winter Song kzread.info/dash/bejne/op56rbqxoKvFk8Y.html are not to be ignored. You will also find some enjoyment in The Blue Cafe and Stainsby Girls. Don't be swayed by the gentleness of this song, this guy can get it going...he is an excellent slide player.
You should check out John Moreland - you don't care for me enough to cry. Great song
The singer was Louis Armstrong
