Blue Öyster Cult’s performance at iHeartRadio Theater in New York City took place on December 17, 2012 in an intimate setting for a lucky audience of 200 fans. This special show was arranged in celebration of the band’s 40th Anniversary and the release of a then new boxset, "The Columbia Albums Collection".
Recorded by an army of cameramen for a special webcast, the performance is now being commercially released on CD/DVD, Blu-Ray, and Vinyl.
BÖC’s original core duo of vocalist and lead guitarist Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser and vocalist and rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are joined by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards and the rhythm section of bassist Kasim Sulton and drummer Jules Radino.

Remember when their LP came out in 76, drove to the local record store “Tower Records”to get it-listened for hours over and over with my headphones on…ahhh the good old days, most prolific decades of music ever. Nothing comes close to what we experienced in the 60-70s!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️

Still love these guys. They were my daughter first concert she was about 4. It was an open air. We were near the frount, Daddy had on his boc godzill shirts and our little girl was dancing her tiny butt off so much people have her space and smiled. They guys loved it and thanked us from the stage for bringing her. Said they loved it. When she was acting out the song Godzilla while dancing. They had such huge smiles.

BOC is easily one of the most underrated bands of all time. They still sound great! As a drummer myself I can't ignore the fact that while the drummer is clearly good, he adds way, WAY too many crash cymbals to this song. This is one of my favorite songs to play and he's on the crash cymbals almost ten times as much as the original drummer was in the studio version. While it's reasonable to change things up a bit, and I certainly don't expect a drummer (or any musician for that matter) to play a song exactly the same as the studio version as it would become boring, the nearly constant crash cymbal hits in this performance are excessive to say the least.

My band ZigZag opened up for them in 94 at A.L. Gators Rivera Beach,Md. We met them, all but Buck signed my Spectures album, they had a newer drummer and bassist,Alan was still in the band, the coolest dude ever! They were awesome that night, played all their hits and more.

It took a guy like Richie to replace Allen Richie an incredible musician if you got a chance to see Allen thats cool . I saw them im thinking 83 or 84 pretty much the original line up. In , 79 they closed the Texas jam. It was so freaking hot in the cotton bowl i couldn't make it through there whole show hell i was 17 back then but that Texas heat early June they were frying eggs on the turf

My 17-year old daughter likes BOC but did not understand the lyric "Time to play B sides." I grew up in the 70's and remember doing exactly this!

Could you explain it to non native speaker who is also too young (25) to get it?

@ A "B side" is the other, usually rather unknown, song on the back of a vinyl single.
