    Cool video, mate. I was wondering, though, how well does it paddle? Can you make any decent headway whilst doing it?

  • @tgcanoesandkayaks

    Imo it is not really designed for paddling, some do use a stand up paddle board style paddle to navigate shallow areas. This is a peddle or motorized designed platform for the most part.

    I payed about 800 when I bought mine a few years ago. I use a cheap marine 12v lead acid battery costs 90 bucks at walmart, and can run multiple days in a row without needing to recharge.

    Howdy Cody, there are way to many variables for this question wind/current/battery size and type. I am using a marine 12v deep cycle battery. The negative is how heavy it is at 55lbs. The positive but I can go multiple days in a row without running out. The dream for me is a KO2 or Dakota lithium. I would contact UltraSkiff they should have an estimated data sheet for you to view.

    Thanks for the video. Would you have a specific recommendation for a big fella looking for something like this? I weigh in at 360 lb. I think this particular boat is good to 500 lb but with gear and stuff, maybe that's cutting it close? My use would be on a slow moving river where the only waves are caused by other boaters.

    Cut back on gear. Only take 2 poles and organize a separate tackle box for just what u want for that day or just for kayak fishing. Everyone takes 200 pounds worth of gear and tackle. Everyone also only uses 10 pounds worth of that gear. Anyway. Keep the load capacity of any kayak atleast 50-75 pounds over how much you plan to load onto it. Helps with stability. Honestly could look into sea eagle fishing skiff or fishing sup. The skiff has a limit of like 800 pounds the fishing sup has a limit of around 500 pounds. Both rather light for the size both can take a motor.

    Steve, we do not have one to show you, but it is easy to load and unload using a truck bed extender. With the wheels down, grab the handles on the pontoons while standing between them, walk it up to the bed extender and set the front of the pontoons on. Walk to the back and slide it up and on to the bed. Raise the wheels and slide it all the way on. Tie it in, hang a red flag, and drive away. To unload reverse the process.

    That would be a lot cooler, if it had a minn Kota trolling motor with spot lock . Like the old town auto pilot kayak. Instead of the motor it has now.

  • @tgcanoesandkayaks

    @tgcanoesandkayaks

    2 жыл бұрын

    Chris, we carried it in our pickup bed with a Boonedox bed extender. The pontoons fit between the wheel wells of a normal bed. Otherwise, a 14 - 16' flat bed does well. If you find a trailer with an adjustable pontoon bunk system, that may work, also.
