I'm touched by how much you liked this song. It's a personal song for me, very deep and raw from my own experiences. Justin obviously wrote this song to express his battle with addiction and how it affected his relationship with his mom, and you can always tell when someone is just mouthing off or speaking from the soul and experience. And this song has more soul than I can almost handle. And I love that his facial expressions lock it in, really cement the emotion here. Songs like this help me deal with my own battles in this department. Thank you for reviewing it and for the love, it actually means a lot to me. Since you like this, you should REALLY check out Macklemore's "Otherside". Another amazing song about addiction that just sends me over the edge. Please listen to it :) XOXO

It’s funny how different people think of music. Some people are effected more with the musical instruments like in rap and rock, some in the lyrics where acoustic is better, and some like both. Myself, an acoustic guitar or a piano is best. This song has such a deep meaning that shouldn’t be hidden by the drums and electric guitars.

Justin, the singer, likes rap/hip hop as well. I know of one song that you, as a fan of rap/hip hop, would probably like. It called any man in America. It’s about his battle with the court system over custody of his daughter. Give it a listen and let us know what you think. Also I should mention that it is an explicit song. Lots of anger and foul language but when you hear it you will understand why.

Im sorry, but were you even listening to what the song is about? I see the disconnect, lol. this song is amazing but for so much more than its musicality. Dude, you literally played the part of the video where the mom finds her dead son?! Your eyes were closed both times! There is the disconnect. He suffered from depression, like hardcore depression. His storytelling is unique, and the substance of the lyric is why it was such a big hit. Blue October is awesome, but this review is kinda weak. I think you missed the whole point of it.

  • @tigerbait2617

I think that you really missed the depth of the story, you spoke about everything else but the deep nature of suicide. Your personal experience does not compare to drug addiction and that level of trauma. Sorry.
