I hope one of you reads this. Please, one of the remaining members of the band, or someone who can get a message back to the band. I wish to thank you. You created our song. Calling You was the song my husband sent me nearly a decade ago when we were new. He lived in Indiana and I in Michigan so there was much Skyping, many emails, so many links exchanged. He sent me Calling You as one of his early proclamations. The lyrics fit him to an essential, perfect tee. I adored the song, listened to it over and again. It became Our Song. Forward nearly five years to me in a sterile, bright ICU room, holding Aric's hand, stroking the back of it, feeling the veins and knuckles. Or a hand on his leg or foot, eyes moving over his face, up to the monitor that measured the pressure in his brain, eyes back to his face, singing. I softly sang over and again, "I can't be-lieve you actually picked meee." Over, the song, the lyrics from me to him, so apt. So perfect. "I'm so in love with you, they can't take that away." He died that day, and Calling You went deep inside to my core where it rested with the essential bits of me that survived his death. I was destroyed by his death except for those small portions that lingered near my core. Slowly emerging, rebuilding, recovering, I reclaimed a lot of myself. Most of myself. There are still things, places, activities, too painful to endure. This was one of them. Until today. This morning I listened to the entire song. Sobbing, smiling, looking at his photo a blur from tears. Click to replay. A third time. Rocking to the music, volume up in my headphones. Over and again. I"d asked him to send me a song this morning. He does that, sends me songs. I'll wake up with a song playing in my head. This morning I asked for one, smiling, waiting quietly. This one began to play. Oh shit, really? "Th-that one?" Okay. So I listened. I was able to! This song remains our truth. The love has never wavered. It never will. I'm so in love with him, he so in love with, no one, nothing will take that away. Not even death. Thank you Blue October for creating our truth sung to perfection.

Blue October is really such an unappreciated band. I am just now rediscovering how much I like them. Putting a number of their older tracks at the top of my playlists again. Rest in Peace my love, Mark. 7/1/2010. I shared this song with my baby in March of this year, made his day. Listened to it almost everyday feeling on top of the world with him until the very day he passed. This song will ALWAYS be a memory of him, makes me cry every time I listen to it now. KZread came into existence in 2005 and I don't think it had a recommended list yet. Maybe you are thinking of a later year!

When this song came out in 2007, I sent it to my best friend in high school via MySpace message. We ended up having a 10 year relationship and it was some of the best years of my life. I’m 31 now with a family of my own and this is the first time I’ve heard this song all the way through in years. I’ve happily moved on, but there’s a part of me that will never stop loving him and what we had together. Good times in this life ❤️

I used to listen to this song for my first love... she was amazing, and I couldn't believe she could love me. This song really did express my sentiments quite perfectly. This version is actually just cheap cgi with fake-fancy visual effects. The fucking video doesn't even correlate to the message. Its crap. The other version had real scenery, real actors, real clothing, real insturments, real recording, and real feelings. This is literally a selling-out version of his original authentic video.

I swear, Blue October always writes the best love songs.

This is the original video from when the song first came out. I first saw it on OnDemand from Comcast for free, from the Music Choice section, when American Wedding came out. I am more partial to this version because it seems more rocker love song, and a hell of a lot less like a sappy song about creating a family.
