@@moelester634 well, cloning in VB doesn't produce full-grown bodies as I remember. When 21 asked Rusty to clone 24, he responded that it would be a baby clone and he'll have to age naturally. And it was Jonas's cloning equipment.

When you factor in the fact that he alledgedly cloned Rusty, YES. You are correct!

I think the Blue Morpho/Vendatta character is probably the most genuinely tragic character in the series. He starts out as a genuine hero, is blackmailed by Jonas (who also had an affair with Morpho's wife behind his back) into doing his dirty work for him, is killed, is turned into an amnesiac cyborg by Jonas, is killed again by Cano, is brought back Again by Dr. Z who wipes his mind of all memories, disappears, reappears as an amnesiac villain, confronts Jonas and kills him (or so he thought) in the Movie Night Massacre, gets his memories back after almost being destroyed by Brock without provocation, goes home to a long-empty house, then finally confronts Jonas Again, who tries to trick Morpho to steal his robot body to house his own brain which will kill Morpho once again, and then he and Jonas are finally killed in their final confrontation. I don't know how they could have made his story more cruel or tragic than they did.

It's also the most comic book story of all in a show that loves to homage/parody comic book superheroes. Amnesia, betrayal, and a metric tonne of deaths and restorations. It's a perfect tribute to all the tropes.

I used to think the Monarchs origin story was kind of stupid. Now...I can't ever see that scene the same way, knowing that Venture Sr. probably saw Blue Morpho's kid running around naked and _took Blue Morpho's corpse instead,_ to turn it into a fucking robot. Probably left the wife's corpse in the plane.

One of my favorite things about the show at this point, is that the characters have matured so much that now they mostly dress and act like normal people. BUT they still all have wacky cartoon voices that are impossible to take seriously.

That was the purpose of the series basically be a Hanna-Barbera tribute. So it makes sense on why their voices lean on more of the campy and wacky tones of cartoons from the 60s and 70s.

Fun fact: In certain episodes of season 5 Blue morpho and his wife make small, easy to miss appearances. One on the spannikopida episode, where you see them briefly on the boat Jonas jumps on, and another on the Monarch's family picture that Rusty has.

I love that literally every single detail revealed about Jonas Venture (Rusty's dad) shows how much of an absolute evil asshole he was. In a show that's about heroes and villains, the supposed gold standard for heroes is the most evil by far. Love this goddamned show.

The smile at the end :') You could tell that Blue Morpho was sooo happy to have his last sight be his son. Right in the feels!

The Monarch got so lucky his dad retook the mantle to absolve him of his recent crime spree.

I love that he has a variant of his outfit when he fights Killer Drone if he gets a reaction from the venom he gets from Drone's stings. This implies that Drone is his main antagonist and it also parodies super heroes having various suits to sell toys.

Well, we already knew that Vendatta was a Venture creation and had tried to kill Rusty, but that it was the Monarch's father rebuilt as a cyborg/android was a bit of a surprise. Everything fits, though. So, while not necessarily obvious as some would like to claim, it definitely was setup properly.

I love the fact that Killer Drone would've been wearing the same costume that Pete White had to wear to "fight" St Cloud. They say in that episode that the costume belonged to Killer Drone

Remember when Dr. Killinger said that Dr. Venture's life is a "classic Cain and abel story"? That's what all of the Venture Bros. Is. A Cain and Abel story. Nearly every major conflict in this series is about sibling rivalry. Hank vs. Dean. Rusty vs. The monarch. Rusty vs. Jonas Jr. The neglected hunchback Dean vs. The superior clone. Heroes vs. Villains And what's the grand point that the series is making about these rivalries? That they all spawn from the same thing. Abuse and neglect. Rusty is cruel and neglectful of both of his sons, but more so to Hank than to Dean. He puts Dean on a pedestal he never wanted for himself and puts Hank on the shelf altogether. He makes his sons compete for his love. Why? Because that's what happened to him from his father. And that's what happened to the Monarch all along. They were half brothers who were constantly compared. They were set up to be rivals literally since birth. And as a result they hate each other when they don't have to. They're pitted against each other because it's in their blood, not for any rational reason. They're both miserable as a result, but Monarch especially can't bring himself to separate from Rusty and be his own person. If only they could realize that the cure to their sadness isn't more neglect and ridicule and detachment; it's loving and nurturing each other. They don't HAVE to play this charade of good and evil that their fathers forced them into. They can choose to be different.

I love how they used the design of the Brotherhood of Steel bunker from Fallout 1 for the entrance, really caught me off guard the first time I watched this

I love how a damaged cyborg with a human face stretched over the facial part was able to walk 1,766 miles out in public and no one thought "Hrmmmm, that.... thing is odd. Maybe we should intervene and capture it and find out just what the hell it is." Says a lot about the Venture Bros. universe. Probably afraid the Guild or OSI will kill them for sticking their nose where it doesn't belong.

Huh... I know it was pretty obvious from the get-go, but it's pretty attention-grabbing knowing that Vendata really was the Blue Morpho. It also makes the Monarch's trial all the more interesting in hindsight. The Monarch was talking with his father and he didn't even realize it.

He survived in space without a suit nd only had a frozen blood snot rocket as an injury. He also killed two dudes using his ass and one of the dudes.

There's something so unsettling about the V over the crotch. Yes, it's probably meant to mirror the natural V that can sometimes be seen on the male body, but it also evokes the knowledge that Jonas literally cockholded him when his wife allegedly went to him for help concieving, and thinking of Jonas putting that there on the body of his friend is just so. . .gross.

I was rewatcning the show and I think the most disturbing thing was realizing that Jonas was, like, sexually obsessed with the Blue Morpho. Remember, Jonas brought over those women seemingly just so he could create that tape to trap the Blue Morpho. And while the movie implied that he probably didn't sleep with his wife, he did force the Blue Morpho to commit a series of sexual crimes. Blackmailing someone into sex is a form of rape and Jonas seemingly did that multiple times. And then there is even Jonas turning him into Venturion and then forcing him to basically be a maid, a rather feminine occupation. And then there is the sad way Vendata reacts to Jonas when he does see him again on the space station. He is scared of Jonas and he just wants people to believe him.

I live like 30 minutes from that exit sign. You head to Route 80 east either from 280 or Route 46 to head over to Newark Airport. Traffic isn't usually bad going there. Weekdays in the afternoon heading east there's hardly any traffic. Only when you're heading west during early afternoons because that's when the New York desk jockeys clock out and swarm the highway heading back home.

Has anybody else noticed that the entrance building at the start of the video is shaped a lot like the entrance to the Brotherhood of Steel base in Fallout 1? Did the animators slip in a small reference to that classic game here?

This was the culmination of everything. Everything that had been going down in the background throughout the show's run, and it all came together. The smallest things suddenly actually meant something, and everything was connected. Everything goofy turned serious. And the scope of everything up to this point dawned on you, for the moment Morpho suited up to finally take on Venture.

I feel sorry for his death at the very end :'(

Actually while Rusty took his father's head, and possibly the remains of the PRO-BLEM. The Guild took the remains of Vendata for the crimes of the blue morpho. It is possible that they both will return in some form. I'm betting on AI/Cyborg.

And holy shit I thought he was the test pilot from the first season. The one that kept screaming all the time. I knew Jonas had attempted to cyborg someone and failed and it was someone close to the Venture family I just didn't know who.

My biggest problem with this show is the writers took forever to tell this story. There's no way they wrap the many plotholes in one movie but we take what we can. Seriously, why did they take forever to tell this story on a cartoon series? Sitcoms don't last as long as they did.

Councilmen were anonumous among rest of the guild, so nobody would care that some random android got his ass kicked in a bar brawl. Why nobody bothered Vendata on the way to Newark? Let's treat it as temporary plot armor.

A lot of people immediately see Green Hornet, but Blue Morpho is also based off of The Shadow. And like The Shadow, he is a darker more urban vigilante with a bad reputation compared to the more squeaky clean seeming Jonas Venture. Or The Shadow to Doc Savage. And this is proven to be false because Doc Savage lobotomized some of his foes into submission while The Shadow never goes that far. Although Blue Morpho is much more emotionally vulnerable than The Shadow.

I was rewatching the series and it's really pretty sad just how vulnerable the Blue Morpho is. Even if Jonas hadn't attacked him, the Guild and OSI weren't going to let him get away

His life is beyond tragic

That was 1 of the best episodes.

I think it's crazy that they included the date for the Movie Night Massacre in his flashback as Vendata. I'm certain they mentioned that date before and they just threw out a subtle hint that the Blue Morpho was at that event.

I actually think that's why Jonas broke him. He hated that the Blue Morpho was competent without him and he hated that he was just a good, normal guy. He had to control him.

Everytime I see the thumbnail for this video I keep thinking blue morpho is a fucken power ranger

I'm so tempted to rewatch this whole show but I'm so many animes I have to catch up on

I strongly recommend it lol , also in proper sequence from the very 1st episode season 1. Ya dont wanna miss the Christmas or Halloween specials either. The guy that makes the music introduced it to me from bonus material on his " Love " album by his band Foetus .

I think it's another unseen character who will be revealed in this season or another...But I feel as though this person is connected to OSI...OSI now has 1. Rusty Venture's confiscated cloning technology 2. The DNA of Jonas Venture Sr and the Blue Morpho 3. The machines that they were connected to that preserves their thoughts and memories.... These 3 facts lead me to believe that Blue Morpho and Jonas Sr. will be resurrected in clone bodies for some sort of purpose....perhaps in fixing the damaged Orb

This seasons opening 3 episodes pretty much ended a lot of storylines and answered offically some big questions mainly What happened to Jonas Venture Sr, but one answer remain to be answered from past seasons: Who caused the Movie Night Massacre? and I think a lot of us have an idea who has.

HOLY SHIT THE REFERENCES! The Blue Morpho mentions he fought the Killer Drone, which was the suit Pete White wears to fight St.Cloud in their level 1 battle. The same suit of course Enzoe had held for years after the Blue Morpho killed him.

So basically before he became a cyborg, he was a nock off of the green hornet.

Like a somehow more fucked up RoboCop.
