i understand and appreciate pickford isn't a boyhood blue, i know he's a sunderland fan through and though. but... i reckon he's *become* a massive blue, even if he wasn't a boyhood fan. it happens, it happened with dunc. you take somebody with a certain personality type and expose them to our fans and that creates a mutual bond. it's often players who've been wronged or targeted by society in general, but are absolutely adored by us. i think that's the secret sauce. they recognise that in us, and we recognise that in them. i think the key to stability would be holding onto branthwaite for another year if possible to have that defensive trio of pickford, tarkowski, and branthwaite. i think at left back with myko we're solid. i think at right back we're in dire straights. whatever people might think about his shortcomings and age, young as a utility player in the squad is useful. coleman we should hold onto as a backup. patterson though, i'm not convinced--when he has played he hasn't been great (imo). now, i would've said the same about myko and he really progressed so i'm open minded to that being possible with patterson too. but, with godfrey also able to play right back we can probably scrape through next season playing musical chairs at right back as long as we hold onto that central trio, pickford/tarkowski/branthwaite. well in lads, appreciate the podcast as always.

Thanks, mate. Agree with all of that, particualrly about Branthwaite. Also hoping yesterday wasn't the last time we see Pickford at Goodison in an Everton shirt - would really do me in if we sold him.

That's the first time you have depressed me guys , if man u paid 90m for McGuire then they can start at 120m for branthwait or in 2 years 175m coyb

Completely agree.Worry is that everyone knows the club has no money so will low-ball them. Be disappointing if Branthwaite goes to United too - he can do better
