Blue Light Training Course non Police - M54 - A460 to Cannock
A look at one of the last runs on a Blue Light Training Course, starting with the M54 motorway. On the A460 heavy traffic, but steady preogress made by emergency vehicle. Note speeds......and

Superb driving skills taught here. Well done student and instructor!
i remember doing my training in Germany in the 90s what fun we had full blues there works flying at 150mph in Omegas we did everything from standard to advanced to defence and security convoy driving fab times i would say i was in the military at the time to drive at that standard even without the gear all switched on you need to be physically fit and mentally fit hope you guys get your courses.
Oh and by the way, brilliant videos as always - been watching these for a while! Thanks for taking the time to upload them!
great driving and great instruction. would love to have a go at that, looks like a real adrenaline rush.
No matter how many of these 'blue light' vid's I watch on KZread, you can always guarantee that their will always be one car that has room to pull over; but yet they just have to over-take one or two more cars before they do. Thanks for sharing; I think most of the public don't realize the training the emergency services get before being allowed to drive 'blue's & two's'
@harrybyles1996 The siren tones are all useful in different traffic conditions. Its best to use the wail tone when on long stretches because the noise travels further and easier to hear, when getting close to standing traffic the yelp tone is better as it makes everybody aware quickly ( normally!) that your there and need to get through. Also when two or more vehicles are travelling in convoy they will use different tones to signal to other vehicles that theres more than one on blues and twos
Excellent upload!
@advancedbiker no problem, i realise most are probably located with a genuine purpose, i just thought it quite a fitting description :)
I personally would have had my siren on from the rbout (11:27) all the way thru the residential area. Lots of hazards there, middle of the day, in fact he cancels the siren at a warning triangle, can't make out what it is. Also lots of markings on the road. As my instructor used to say...the council don't waste money on paint. Good change of tones at 12:30 and got a reaction from the van. The lad driving is doing okay. Its easy for people to comment, bit different when ur in the seat. Good vid.
Good training route :) Why are you worrying about speed cameras though? Is your student not from a service where the speed exemption applies?
Another great video AB showing safe and efficient progress. I guess it's nice to be working away from the bikes from time to time? I noticed that there aren't any switches for the lights and sirens so I'm assuming they're wired into the circuit for the horn?
Top stuff, do you do any EFAD responses?
do you still offer this course and who would i need to email to get some more information
is it a focus or mondeo, & in what livery is it marked up in, just wondering, thanks
Am I correct in saying that when a vehicle behind me is displaying blue lights, sounding siren etc I am only compelled to give way at a point I feel it is safe and appropriate in the given conditions. I, would by the way, include in that observation, not crossing a stop line. What training did you give your 'blue light' trainees regarding this, particularly that
Unusual to hear speed cameras being referred to as revenue cameras. (
@advancedbiker very much doubt it, im not a firefighter myself but i was applying but recruitment has hit an all time low :( I dont know when it will pick up again but as a young lad living in nowhere(hertfordshire0 ive applied for the army and hope to come back to firefighting in a few years!
Ah I see, do you still actually get the tickets sent to you and then you have to fill out an appeal form or something similar?
As a potential future Blue light driver for none police use, any reccomendations you can give? Course's ect? And do non-police user's have to give commentary/do a theory test/practical or is it just training they receive?
