    The lad driving has good skills, convoy on blues is never easy when you're behind the lead vehicle , excellent use of tones making sure they were different from the lead vehicle. The white rigid didn't do them any favours near the end, bloody professional drivers ! Good demonstration of how NOT to get out of the way of an emergency vehicle.

    These guys and girls are modern day super hero's, my Mam worked for Tyne and Wear fire brigade for 20 years, the amount of abuse that the Brigade get now on the streets is ridiculous, as if they haven't got a delicate work load to deal with already its has become all the more risky when on a shout from members of the public abusing them. The lads really don't need to be dragging body armour around on top of a already cumbersome kit. Respect to all of you 🤝🏻

    I have never seen ill feeling between fire and police, banter yes. Police and fire work together so often they get to know each other very well. They play charity footy matches against each other here, and do school open days etc together. You will always get the odd occasion when a bit of frustration creeps in, but in my experience I wouldn't say it happens often. Just my humble opinion.

Im guessing the younger more excited but less experienced are happier with the lata but the old experienced who have seen alot, are happier with the first outcome

    Are they still in Watford? It seemed as if they had responded across all of England. That was a long ride. The problem with station centralization I expect. So many great European cities have only three or four massive fire stations quartering a dozen or more fire and rescue vehicles. Each station covers it's own section of the city, thus centralization. As opposed to the U.S. system of large cities and towns having fire departments made up of anywhere between two to twenty or more smaller stations spread out across the city forming a type of grid, where apparatus from different stations responds in conjunction with one another. Thus smaller response areas and shorter response times.

  • @AndrooUK

    @AndrooUK

    5 жыл бұрын

    Land is relatively expensive and at a premium in UK towns/cities. It's not going to happen that fire stations multiply, the local councils would not want to fund it. Now, I can imagine fire stations being reduced in number even further if the local councils could get away with it.

We went to the phone box to find the miscreant collapsed in a drunken stupor... he was arrested by the police who'd turned out to the fire.

    +Brandon Strafford And I'd love to see anyone handle any Scania like that the simple fact is that you can't and why drivers prefer a Dennis NOT a converted bin waggon.

    Manoeuvrability aside, Scanias are not capable of driving that fast either. Firefighters who I know at my local station swear that in the “good old days”, their Dennis RS of 1990 vintage could do 95 mph. The Sabres that replaced the RSs topped out at 90 and now they have a Scania that is restricted to 56 mph. The only time a Scanny could do a ton is if it drove a cliff. Is that progress, I wonder!

    Far from progress at it puts lives at risk and a Scania could never ever handle like these.
