The funniest thing about herons is once they have wounded their prey, they drop it to the ground, take a step back and forcefully hit back at it for a final blow. That gets me every single time! Hilarious!

When I see this amazing predator hunting it become so clear to me how, most likely, T-rex and other theropods dinosaurs used to kill their preys. Most paleontologists agree that they did not chase their prey but rather ambush them. In fact they were too heavy to move too fast. Well...watching these vicious killers hunting, it's not hard for me to believe them.

This is basically a dinosaur hunting and catching its prey. Pay attention Jurassic world

Yeah, they don't have hands, but they certainly DO have incredible "beak-eye coordination". I'm just shocked that chipmunk was so careless that it let a large predator get that close to it.

This is the first video where I have seen a heron hunt a squirrel.I always thought these birds were only fish hunters 😮😮🙄🙄

There's a heron that comes to wade in my back yard every day. For the most part it sticks to the water and catches fish. But occasionally it walks around, even going on the street, and now I know why.

O how I love herons. We should learn how to do a clean job from start to finish.

Usually when I saw a heron I found it very risible seeing it standing in cold water for hours to catch a fish.. After seeing this, I feel humbled.. From now on the heron will be for me the symbol of judgement error.

The beak is like a long jab.The beak is very effective because its hard as a bone.The chipmunk couldnt do anything.

LoL that Chipmunk was tough gotta give the lil guy credit, he wanted to live was amazing how much effort he put into trying to escape...He lost all his stamina tho and he doesn't know just playing like you're easy prey like when the Heron laid the Chipmunk down had he had the stamina he could of tried his best to bolt LoL.

@@afshintayarani1632 No, it’s fine. My point is simply that the chipmunk is a different species than squirrels. I also don’t think a heron could subdue a squirrel. The chipmunk almost got away until it’s back was broken, but a squirrel is twice as large.

Animals are so amazing lol if I ever felt some rodent squirming around like that In my hand I'm checking it into the next state just off impulse 😂😂

Seems to me the heron had the chipmunk by the neck, and the sharp shaking was an attempt to break its neck Fascinating, and yet intelligent.
