It never gets old watching the Blue Angels....A true American Icon a symbol of Power, Precision and Discipline! Thank you Men & Women

I was stationed at El Centro from 1978 to 1981 with VA-174 Det El Centro. Once the Blue Angles got their routine down over the desert training range they then switched to flying a practice show as much as four times a day. Sometimes on the Day shift we actually got to see them fly the show three times. I never got tired of watching them. Of course this was when they were still flying the A-4. So much change during my 41 years in the Navy.

I have watched Blue Angels videos/clips for years now. I have seen them in person as well. This video is the best I have seen thus far that really captures all one sees and hears at the live show. It far surpasses any video I have ever seen! Thank you so much for this!

We get to hear them practice flying overhead in Imperial my kids love it ❤and my little boy points and says he’s gonna fly that jet plane when he grows up ✈️ ❤🙏they are amazing!!!! God protect and keep you safe always guys!!!!❤🙏

It doesn't get much better than this. Their skills and abilities to fly those planes are incredible. Angels may you soar through the clouds with the greatest of ease and thrill Americans for as long as possible. I pray each one of you to be safe and God blesses your talents. If you've seen the Thunderbirds lately, they have really tightened up their show. They have spent a lot of time with the Blues at El Centro and it shows.

I didn't know El Centro still had airshows. I'm sad I missed it. Thanks for posting.

Always love your videos because you often pull back to show the context of the maneuvers, how close to the ground, other aircraft, etc. This is especially evident when all the jets converge at show center from 6 different directions. And the season is just starting, keep it up!!!

Fantastic video, thankyou Spencer for sharing. Is fast becoming my favourite team. Here in the UK, the Red Arrows have gone off the boil, in my opinion. Their ageing Hawks don't help. The Blue Angels put on a great show from start to finish 👏

I agree, quite surprised they haven’t changed to the Typhoon or F-35 but give it time, like you said the Hawks have pretty much had their day now. That said they were excellent at Fairford last year.

They will use the jets that are available. Quick change of tail number and names of pilots on the aircraft are done as needed. In early days of practice, the team may not always change tail numbers. I’ve seen number 7 fly as slot, number 4 and 6 fly the solo program. The pilots fly the same position but fly any aircraft available for practice. The team will always try to fly with the correct tail numbers for the demo no matter what model they fly. The maintenance team are the best!

The Blues are using the First Generation of Super Hornets that are 24+ years old. The Fleet had a mix of "E" Singles and "F" 2 models. With the Legacy Hornets, the Two Seaters (F/A-18D) were Marine Aircraft

My understanding is they are still in “training mode”. Whenever the pilot is even slightly out of position, they turn off the smoke until they are back in position. A ground crew is taking videos which will be used in the debriefs and the smoke turning off helps as a “placeholder” during the video review.

They are perfectionist. I think a little too hard on them selves for being just a hair out of position. It’s an airshow just leave the smoke on.
