The Lumet collection is pretty cool and I see it’s volume one so they got more to go very nice and imprint Does a great job . I would say one of my favorite films is 12 angry men from him. Dog day afternoon was pretty good. Family business. The original murder on the Orient express.

Hi Mike, yeah it’s volume one but I don’t think there are more Lumet editions coming out the next one (vol two) is of a different director, he certainly has put out some great movies, 12 Angry Men is one of, if not, his best movie. Take care mate👍😃👍

Wow Alan that Sidney Lumet box set looks cool. Some good films in there too. Very Grim weather on the south coast. Not too much out today. Next time you pop into CeX please could you pick that Close Encounters up if you can. Can hold on to it as will pop down to you as your not far or if that fails will see you in London. This week I found the film by Kiana Reves point break the original movie. It’s quite a good movie. I also found violent night and the brave one Jodie Foster’s movie

Hi Les, The Pawnbroker is a film that stayed with me for days afterwards, I’m sure it’s available here to buy from BFI. Loved Serpico and it’s incredible that it’s based on actual events 😮 cheers mate, take care👍😃👍

Hi Roy, sounds like you need to pick this set up for yourself mate, it’s a must have for Lumet fans and the quality of the set is outstanding. You certainly can get a bargain at CEX, I pop in there often but it’s best to price check to see if it’s cheaper elsewhere (or at a similar price for a brand new copy) cheers mate, take care👍😃👍

Hi Alan. Nice coverage of the Lumet set. I have some of those on dvd and am a big fan of The Pawnbroker, The Offense and Serpico. The Deadly Affair not so much. Not that I always find them necessary but the set seems to have a random approach on adding extras. Comprehensive for The Pawnbroker but none for Serpico, which is possibly the most popular movie from the set. Seems odd to me but once again Imprint have done a great job on the packaging

Hi Neil, thanks mate, The Deadly Affair is slow paced that’s for sure but I’ve always found James Mason compelling to watch, the extras do seem very random but I’m guessing films of a certain age may be different to track down. An underrated film in this box is Child’s Play 🧐 Definitely a must have for Sidney Lumet fans, cheers mate, take care👍😃👍

Once again a terrific video Alan, that Sidney Lumet set is beautiful and nice selection of films, one of his other terrific films was the only movie I like from Vin Diesel “Find me Guilty” have to check these films out only one I saw was “Serpico” take care and be well

Hi Sir Alan, That"s a Western comedy that i never got to watch "The Frisco Kid" look forward to getting a copy of that one, early Harrison Ford movie from his career, more good buys at your local CEX yet again, that"s another beautiful set & release from Imprint Films from the movies from Sidney Lumet, for sure in my opinion the best movie from the set is "Serpico" but the i highly rate "The Offence" & Sean Connery really put a outstanding performance to become more than just James Bond at that time of his career. Fine update Alan, & i"ve finally caught up with your videos as i"ve binged watched your last load of videos since the New Year, excellent work as always from one of my fav channels in the community 😎👍

Hi Carlos, yes, The Frisco Kid is a Harrison Ford film that I’ve never seen either, I’m really looking forward to seeing it. I remember seeing Serpico in the 70’s and even back then, I knew it was an outstanding movie and it stands the test of time. Loved Sean in The Offence, I can see why he chose that particular role, a very big departure from the Bond image…. Ooh I will check some of my previous videos for comments (as you know I rarely get notifications on older videos for some reason) cheers mate, if you fall behind agin, don’t worry about having to catch up…🤣 it’s all good, take care mate👍😃👍

Hi Alan, CEX have been a pain in the backside now with there pricing, Don't know how they are allowed to charge retail price for second hand films, surly it can't be good for business. Out of your boxset i have only seen two films, The offence and Serpico, both fantastic films, thanks for the video.

Another great video; brilliant work researching whether CeX are saving a fair amount vs online. I dare say it may not aid a huge majority with _specific_ titles that they have in _their_ local CeX but showing that some are bargains but others can be bought for a few pence more, or sometimes actually cheaper, brand new online, should act as a powerful warning to always check! Shame HMVs seem to be be regularly stocking less of the titles you want so you have to order but another nice box set from _Imprint_ - they must be as impressed as I am how you manage to watch and accurately comment on each movie. I must give *Serpico* a watch; I think I might have seeing part of it on the TV yrars ago but before I could appreciate it fully; oddly I've just checked and I don't have a copy on any format! Cheers and stay well.

Love Sidney Lumet, and I've got more to watch since I've only seen Serpico and The Offense of these films. Hope life treats you well this week!

Auyup Alan Hope you and Mel and the rest of the family are okay like? I got my digital copy added this morning for Aquaman, the lost kingdom, I’ll be watching that at some point. I won’t be watching anything for awhile though, because I’ve been ploughing through the Star Wars dark disciple novel. That’s been an enjoyment for me

Hi Eva, I quite liked the first Aquaman movie and despite the whole Depp v Hurd story, I’m still looking forward to checking out the sequel, I’m currently reading Moby Dick which is good but the language can sometimes be tricky. Melanie is still sore from her operation, she had an infection but it’s on the mend now. Big hugs and cuddles Eva👍😃👍

@@kermitsghost I’m glad she’s on the mend after going through hoops so to speak. Amber also has BPD, I think she ended up in a situation where she didn’t mind her surroundings, and the whole fallout is just a consequence of her, not minding her surroundings, and the damage that she left behind in her wake, hopefully she’s making better decisions going forward? The last thing I ended up reading was that she ended up moving out of the United States and found a place in Spain somewhere and that’s where she’s raising her daughter right now (she ended up having IVF as a single parent). Anyway much love to you all 🖤

@@Eva_Hooh I had no idea Amber has BPD, that certainly wouldn’t have helped her decision making at the time, good for her for moving and changing her circumstances, hopefully it will help her. I know her daughter had death threat made against her, which is disgusting. Yeah Mel is getting me to put some kitchen units in, so I’m keeping her distracted from her pain 🤣

@@kermitsghost no yeah, Amber has BPD. I started to wonder as the trial was progressing, I was like hmmm is Amber BPD because everything is coming out that just kind of hit me in the face. I’m probably more balanced than I’ve ever been personally, I’m definitely better than what I was 10 years ago, but then I was living with the condition, 19 years and 2 months undiagnosed, not a great condition to live with undiagnosed. Happy kitchen unit fitting 😜

I find cex shops bit overpriced most times TBF I haven't been in one since last July , that Blu-ray I got lady week the devil girl from mars had sync issues had to send it back to Amazon 😮 I heard most discs had issues aswell bit crap , btw serpico a solid film 📽️👍🏻
