@@Mr.Thermistor7228 I know crazy news! With all the success in motorsport (rally + nitrorx) recently it seems like such an odd move. I am willing to give the plain 2022 WRX a go, but they are really missing the flare of the STI. Will see what happens with values. Hyundai are doing great. One thing to be aware of is depreciation will be much worse with a Hyundai compared to Subaru if that matters to anyone. Not sure I can stomach the Elantra looks N looks,. But maybe a Kona N, just it doesn't have manual. Veloster N, my daughter is shooting up in height so back seats small space mean that is not workable really. If only we had the i30 N here.

@@matthewwain9958 it really is man, idk what is going on with them and ive been questioning their direction for awhile now over 5 years for sure. they really could be something incredible, i look at other companies performance cars and how much more power and development they've made, like there are cars out now that come with at least 400hp from the factory and its not even a big deal, alot even 450-500hp and 20 years ago those same cars had lke 150hp lol but what has subaru done to the sti in 20 years?.... FCKING 10 HP!!!! like wtf subaru? they absolutely should have an sti out with minimum 375hp even 400-430hp range. they have had over 20 years and insane amounts of racing experience to be able to develop it but instead they just fucked off their fanbase completely, its such a disappointment. sorry for the rant lmao tough subject for me ive been a fan for so damn long. dude i absolutely would buy the i30n if we had it here too! its so fucking clean looking i 100% would get it out of all the n models. i also am not a big fan of the elantra either, the kona is cool but not something id buy, i do like the veloster but i just like the i30n so much more lol and dude i would so sit on that 2018 sti!! you legit have a freaking gold mine hahah

I've waited for the DCT version over 2 years now. Now it's been released I'm pretty angry Hyundai won't sell it in the Netherlands. The oil got nice and warm towards the end. On constant 'send' mode it might benefit from an external oil cooler; since the temperature dropped the moment you let off, I suspect this just has a simple oil/water heat exchanger.

Yeah I noticed that as well. Depending on the gauge scale it appears to be ~140c or so. As long as it stops there and doesn’t creep, should be fine. Either way, 10 year warranty covers tracking. About the first 20s: THIS is exactly what people dont seem to get these days, badges dont tell how good the actual car is! For some reason german cars are held in such high regard in everythign, even though they have gone downhill in terms of "drivers car feeling", even the performance versions. The Golf 8 GTI may be a little faster, but the i30N just feels SO MUCH more lively and makes a ton more fun to drive.

I know why you want to switch to something awd but listen to me, I did the same "mistake". There are certain good AWD systems, like the BMW M, Yaris GR an the Porsche ones. Really enjoyed watching this, because I just bought a 2022 Veloster N (which is apparently similar to the i30N but with a bit more power), and Misha's first reaction to this was similar to mine in the Veloster N. I just couldn't believe how good it was. I drove it back to back with a Mustang GT with loads more power and a $10,000 higher price, and the Veloster N was way more fun. The amount of performance for the money is just unbelievable.

Same platform just looks a little different, it was the case in earlier versions that the Veloster was more powerful but as of 2021 they’re the same
Well this tipped me over the edge. I just switched last year from full time Corsa OPC to a new Mokka E as daily driver. while i absolutlely love the E, the comfort and design and style... I want to go back to a hothatch for the daily as i only put like 5-10K km on it per year anyway so this seems absolutley perfect.
Maybe this is the car I have been looking for.
Brilliant review, even though it's not an accual review! Thumbs up
I’m really hoping you decide to get an i30n or i20n. I live in the US and so we don’t have either of those, but I have the Veloster N and love it. I’d love to drive essentially the same car on Nurburgring! Hoping to make the trip next summer to apex nurburg!
Had the opportunity to try one too: great car, crazy fun to drive, delicious sound from the exhaust… but damn she’s thirsty. I took the car for a bit of sporty driving in some twisty roads, and over a course of just about 6km the autonomy dropped by more than 30km. In the highway it’s decent, but damn as soon as you step on the pedal the fuel tank gets empty. Just look at this video, she used more than 100km in range to complete a lap. That’s some expensive stuff.
Ok thats a cool car I never knew I could like
This lap that Misha was chilling was still about 30s faster than me chillin in my manual i30N :D
Hyundai hired a top bmw engineer to help design the i30n, not much of a suprise of how good of a car it is when you know that
, a bloody great car
Nice car, definitely would need bigger intercooler for use case where you have consecutive laps but if you would smash it hard only one lap in a row then it would need only ps4s.
For a stock hothatch, that is realy impressive. Albert Bierman knows what he is doing. Nice car.

Uhm no? Honda was on another level, dominating F1, NSX was probably the best sportscar out there at a reasonable price which was beating Ferraris, Lambos and kept up with even Porsches. And then they brought the S2000 which was poetry on wheels and totally revolutionary. This is just a really really exceptionally good hot hatch sorry.
Finally some decent content with the facelift model. Seems like no one is doing any decent videos.

my business partner was between the GR Yaris and this one and we got to test them both back to back. I love how small and light the Yaris feels (it has more torque than the i30n and is also WAY lighter) but overall the i30n did win our hearts. my partner ended getting the new i30n and he is very happy with it. but in the end, you can't go wrong with any of those choices!

Great driving skills! Hyundai N Mode is a dynamic drive mode, bringing the excitement and performance of motorsports to everyday driving.😲
I own the pre- facelift i30N Fastback and as you can see if you pay attention to the fuel indicator, the most impressive feature of this car is it's fuel consumption which is spectacular. Misha loses a km worth of gas every 100 meters and goes through a quarter tank of gas over 1 lap. I'm not hating on the car because I love mine, it's just something potential buyers should be aware of.
Want to know what was really weird watching that? (In a good way?) I felt like I was playing Gran Turismo.. (the older PlayStation2) The noises, the way the views were portrayed, the interaction with the camera to car etc, proper strange but it genuinely felt awesome to watch that video.
It's a solid car, fun to drive, and safe. Giving you a better handling with LSD. Wet 8 speed DCT just phenomenal. Love you Misha ❤ You just prove me that Mr BIERMANN is the BEST. THANK YOU

People always going on about oil temps 🤷♂️ Stop using bogo oils if it worries you. I used to use an ester based fully synthetic that was suitable for road use and tested to stay in grade even after 10hrs of circuit racing in heavily turbo charged cars. All I ever did was do an oil change before a track day and put some of the above in and then change it again after a track day if I felt it needed it.
