Movie is a great classic which came out very under appreciated during its time.

That ending part where he shows his brother the mural gets me every time. That's some great acting

Cruzito's dialogue here really wraps up the narrative of the long movie: he's balancing fate with free will. Paco realizes that his actions set Miklo on a path and Miklo didn't resist that path because he had something to prove, so he went far with it. Meanwhile Cruzito is the one that has gone to hell and back on a drug-laced train viewing the forked paths of his two carnales on both of his sides: he's a character that has become the voice, the observer, the narrator...he's like Melquiades in One Hundred Years of Solitude.

I always thought they missed the chance of placing Juanitos death on Paco too. Since Paco having Miklo attack Tres Puntos caused them to retaliate on Cruz, breaking his back, getting hard into drugs because of the pain

It ain’t that deep. It just shows that life is jacked. Cruz was the one with talent, didn’t wanna fight and stayed out of trouble. Meanwhile, Paco was a troublemaker, fighting, a “record” etc. Miklo starts out ok probation and it just got worse from there. Life wasn’t fair to Cruz.

He lost his civilian brother but found a new one, on the other side. A truly dark and poetic movie, full of excellent quotes and comedic relief. Besides, it also has aryan buff Billy Bob Thorton, lol.

This is such an underrated and great movie. When people talk about gangsta movies Blood In, Blood Out is rarely ever mentioned. This is one of my top 10 movies of all time.

I feel like a total idiot in that I've never even heard of this film until I started watching these clips on YT. The acting and screenwriting is incredible.

As you grow up, sometimes your memory loses thoughts of your past and you forget where you came from. That's what happened to Paco, he had forgotten where he came from,he forgot how he was raised,because he went from all bad to all good and being all good made him forget his wrongs,everyone makes mistakes in life,thats how you learn,paco didnt realize that till he saw the mural and that made him forgive eveyrthing he had done to hurt his cruz and miklo. Paco is the reason why miklo is who he is

Miklo stopped Paco from killing Spider. Miklo, got shot and defended himself and killed Spider. Paco, left Miklo to go to prison by himself, and he had to learn how to fend for himself the 9 years, he was in there. While, Miklo made bad decisions, we can't ignore Paco led him on the path then abandoned him to handle the repercussions on his own, while he went and built a life and not once reached out to Miklo in those 9 years.

I like how miklo started wearing his shirts buttoned all the way up and tucked in , just like Montana

7:37 at that moment, everything stayed silent. We knew right there Paco just got hit with the truth. The times miklo was just trying to fit in but Paco never accepted him as Vato Locos because of his skin color. The day he tested miklo with spider was the moment miklo became a real gangster. While he got sent to prison, Paco was able to leave the gang life & became somebody else to get away from the truth. Luckily, cruz made em hit reality once after his family forgave him. What goes around comes around.

Cruz was the only one who kept it real even though he was the victim, Miklo betrayed his mentor and leader and Paco went from Hoodlum to Police officer. The only dude who gave Miklo some support for having his back way back when was Cruz. Yeah he fucked up by hanging with Chuy and got his little brother killed but none of this would have happened if Paco didn't roll the dice on Miklo and provoke him. Cruz even took him to El Pino with Tamales.

Had to show Cruz's redemption. But what a scene! He makes sense of everything. He helps Paco let go of his issues with Miklo and himself.

The 2 best scenes in the movie where Paco and Miklo both showed how smart and strategically they set up and took out their rivals.

We were gangster than last 80s and the early 90s now I understand this movie now that I am sober thanks to God I am alive much love from Killadelphia

I Google Carnalismo -its an inner attitude that a true vato has, full of loyalty,courage and love for his homies.Damm.

There a few parts cut out of the movie but the gist of it is here and it truly is one of the most under rated movies made. This without a doubt was and still is a powerful and meaning movie.

Milklo: As a A+ Student but trying to be like the cool kid, He always gets picked on for being a nerd in highschool but years later became a big time drug boss however other rivalries wants his head. Pretty much those two lives changed reversibly for the good or bad…

sad that in the end, Miklo found the acceptance he looked for as leader of a prison gang.

Alot of people still don’t know that blood in blood out was actually filmed in 1991 and was originally going to be released in 1992 but because of the LA riots from the Rodney king thing the movie wasn’t released until 1993. Also Theodore Wilson died in July of 1991 and I remember on the movie notes it said he died shortly after filing this scene

Miklo’s character arc is absolutely brilliant. It should be studied in film schools. For me this movie is timeless.

A classic, they don't make like this anymore, give credit to the cast director all the actors were superb no matter how big the part or small.

I forgot what a great movie this is. I remember watching it a few times back in the day. I grew up in a different color from these guys but there's an ocean of dead homies that will haunt me forever. Some times it seems the grief is too much to bear.

I love Paco he is a inspiring character in

this is such an amazing movie, and yet so underrated. this is up there with godfather in terms of storyline and acting. brilliant movie

@MeaningCorrupted Miklo's cellmate, "Magic," gives Miklo the mold which they used to send the forged orders to the B.G.A. hit man. Miklo sobs in grief over Montana's death, "I loved him!" Magic responds, We both loved him, but we did what we had to do for La Onda. You were right. As Miklo destroys the mold, Magic tells La Onda's new boss, So thats why they set up the hit to kill motana even though they did'nt want to. Montana he was slippin so they took it over.

I dont know why this isn't on Blu Ray or gets the respect it deserves. This film even has a Shakespeare reference. Magic is Lady Macbeth but making the King (Miklo) wash away his sins. Note the VL and Tres Puntos tattoos side by side in the sink.

I absolutely love this movie 10/10, The acting is beyond flawless. Now a days everyone's trying to out act each other... if we went back to these times... we'd have great movies again, LETS MAKE MOVIES GREAT AGAIN!

Yeah that shit really happened too and their power wasn't little they even threatened people from jail a couple of times ot was on the news. MM was real I'm not sure if they still around but I know they personally asked the media to stop talking shit about them so Idk if they hon or we not hearing about them as much because of that.
