Blood Clotting in COVID - The Missing Link (New Study)

Clotting in Severe COVID An Immune Pathology?
This brand new study for the first time shows the possibility of autoreactive immune pathology leading to clotting in Severe COVID patients. In my opinion this mechanism can be behind the clotting for the long COVID patients as well. Let's review.

*SUMMARY AND TIMESTAMPS* Blood clotting, specifically an autoimmune reaction affecting the Von Willebrand factor, involving antibodies to ADAMTS13 may be responsible for the severity and long-term effects of COVID-19. Plasma exchange found to be a valid therapeutic option. 00:00 🩸 Blood clotting may be a key factor in long and severe cases of COVID-19, according to a recent study. 03:22 🩸 The study suggests that an autoimmune reaction affecting the Von Willebrand factor may be responsible for the clotting seen in severe and long COVID-19 cases. 07:17 🩸 The Von Willebrand factor is a key player in blood clotting, as it initiates the clotting process, binds with different components in tissues, and stabilizes clotting factor eight. 11:25 🩸 Platelets, small structures without a nucleus, become rough and tangle with each other, leading to clot formation in blood vessels. 13:51 🩸 In severe COVID patients, antibodies against AdamTS13 decrease its production, leading to an accumulation of Von Willebrand factor and continuous blood clot formation. 17:16 🩸 Blood clots in severe COVID can block smaller blood vessels, affecting blood flow and tissue health; a study found increased Willebrand factor, reduced AdamTS13, and anti-Adam ts-13 antibodies in critically ill patients, indicating a potential connection between clotting and disease severity. 21:16 🩸 The decrease in AdamTS13 in long COVID patients leads to unchecked Von Willebrand factor, causing blood clotting disorders and increased disease severity. 24:27 💉 Blood clotting in long and severe COVID may be linked to anti-AdamTS13 antibodies, suggesting the need to include these antibodies in the diagnostic workup for patients at risk of severe disease. 25:33 💉 Plasma exchange was found to be a valid therapeutic option; it reduced exces VWF and antibodies to AdamTS13 plus new plasma would deliver AdamTS13.

Dear doctor, thanks a lot for the lecture of this study, It was really interesting and well done. In Italy a doctor suggested a therapy based on hyperimmune plasma for critical covid patients, back at the beginning of the pandemic, but he had been disregared and so harshly criticized by his "mainstream" colleagues that he finally committed suicide. Now this study confirms after years, that plasma can be really helpful for severely ill covid patients. It looks almost as a turning tables from the heaven for doctor de Donno. Best regards.

We are definitely improving our knowledge of the immune system, under your guidance. ,Despite the Pandemic having been officially withdrawn, the WHO has deemed fit to add the COVID warning label to your lectures ( and those of other channels). No debates or opposing viewpoints are allowed in countries like Turkey, the Middle East, North Korea, but now we can also add to this list the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe. In other words, these so called developed, modern civilized, countries have METAMORPHOSIZED into pseudoDemocracy, which will inevitably lead to Despotic rule in future generations, by the new Aristocracy who wield money and power. Truly a dystopian future! Please continue your good work, even though the powers that be are trying to shut down, all forms of communication. Stay strong 🙏

Anti PF4 antibodies also interfere with ADAMTS13 activity degrading VWF complexes. High Anti-PF4 antibodies have been noted in patients with VITT. Therefore thrombus formation in Covid disease patients and vaccine injury patients may result from different pathways affecting the same clotting system.

Hey Dr I’ve been following this vein of studies involving long COVID since I got really sick with what I believe is long COVID. Various neurological symptoms and exacerbation of what used to be managed anxiety. Many visual anomalies like flashing in the periphery, loss of depth perception and ability to maintain gaze on an object. Sudden onset of tinnitus which has persisted for years since COVID arose. Frequent hypertensive events like extreme blood pressure spikes accompanied by SVT events. Frequent and profound periods of delirium, confusion, anxiety, and derealization. General issues with cognition like ability to focus or problem solve. These all arose during peak COVID and lost my job because of it. Got exhausted explaining myself to GP and different specialists without a diagnoses. First call I made to a neurologist they said the doc doesn’t specialize in what I’m experiencing and I gave up on seeking care. I’ve been reading these studies over the years about long COVID being a mix of legitimate brain damage and small vessel micro clots. As well as the virus causing dysfunction involving histamine and mast sells mimicking MCAS. I tried a lot of at home remedies like garlic, milk thistle, D3, bromelain, magtein, circumin, lactoferrin, k2, nattokinase, ubiquinol, probiotics designed to break down histamine, and a self imposed h1+h2 blockade using fomatidine and diphenhydramine. After a lot of mixing and matching I’m mostly in the same position I started in. Can’t definitively point to any combination of those supplements which provided more good days than bad days. Do you have any insight on the types of doctors best equipped to deal with long COVID who actually understand studies like the ones you’ve provided? I believe the key for me may be finding a neurologist who is focused on the newest studies. But I find it difficult to find a general physician sympathetic with my issues let alone have them refer me to someone who can truly help. I’m desperate to get back to work but I can’t function in any meaningful or productive way in my current state. I’m glad doctors are still seeking the missing link but it’s difficult to find a practitioner who’s on the same wavelength. I believe the issues with the current US workforce is due to people like me who are suffering with debilitating symptoms and nowhere to turn for help. We’re wasting away at home.

Maybe a Neuromuscular doctor or clinic. I finally got a referral to a Neuromuscular Clinic. Are you familiar with dysautonomia? So of that may be caused by dysautonomia. I have POTS Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome a form of Dysautonomia. One thing it does is make my heart race while standing without moving. Laying down my heart beats about 64 times a minute. If I stand upright and still my heart rate will fluctuate between 80 and 140 beats per minute standing still. My blood pressure barely changes while this is going on. Sometimes it will beat with such force I expect it to come out of my chest and I have adrenaline surges that I thought was anxiety. I'm not sure if you're positive it's overwhelming anxiety and not possibly adrenaline surges. Does laying down reduce your symptoms?

Dr Been's talks have helped me go down other rabbit holes and find part of my problem. Dysautonomia Now I just have to figure out how to get my blood back to pre-covid condition. I think the blood changes are the key to long COVID or at least mine and hundreds of other people reporting the same problems. My CBC and metabolic panel were damn good, I was surprised as I had been in bed for 7 months. D dimer was 32, that I'm still not sure about as to why and if it's bad... I know you want under 50 but seems to me it would be lower but I haven't lost much sleep over it. I thank Dr Been for sharing this information along with his knowledge and his skill educating us all. He is a gift to humanity himself!

Dr Morbeen, maybe you have an idea what's going on. I have LC pathology (after jabs) and everytime I take anticoagulants (aspirin, NAC, natto) or even things like Apolactoferrin I experience that symptoms come back and new symptoms occur. Then I quit the medication/supplementation but the symptoms get even stronger for multiple weeks until I am at baseline again. Do you have an idea why that happens after quitting ?

Class-switching to IgG4 type antibodies is not thought to trigger IgG4-related disease in itself, and there is no evidence that the mRNA vaccines are associated with the subsequent development of IgG4-related disease. Btw my D-dimer from my covid infection keeps coming down, it came down from 1530 to 1183 in 2 weeks, also i feel a lot better. its been 6 days since i did the test so im guessing im probably around 1k now.
