Blood Brain Barrier
In this video, Dr Mike explains the 3 main layers of the blood brain barrier (and its accessory structures), these include;
- Endothelia with tight junctions
- Basement membrane (basal lamina) with pericytes and macrophages

Thank you so much, I feel more prepared when I watch your videos.🙋🏻♀️
Thank you very much for this short, simple but explicit video.
this was great! Explained so much and done so simply, thanks :)
I just wanted to say thanks to you I did really well on my first anatomy exam, your explanations are very thorough and as a visual learner I really appreciate all the drawings 🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are having way too much fun with those markers lol. Great video!
Great vid!
Thank you so much, Sir. Please make a tutorial on the classification of nerves too...🙏🙏🙏
Perfect video I’ve watched on BBB
Thank you Dr.
So good!
Great! Thank you so much
Dr Mike please do a video on lesions of visual pathway .
This is helpful. Thank you 🐒
Yass... back at it again 😁
i love you doc.
Thank you so much 🤍
Awesome,
hey great video i have a quick query. whats the difference between the blood brain barrier and the cerebrospinal fluid barrier? do they have the same function? I thought the the CSF and intersitial fluid were the same
You're amazing 😍
NICE ONE TNX
very informative thank you. so the macrophages must be special ones that don't release cytokines? If the pericytes are sensors that contract to keep stuff out; does that mean that if my blood is full of "not good stuff" they will contract and allow less of everything (including oxygen) to the neurons? or are they more selective than that? Is that why "huffing paint" gets you high?
really hopin your channel will help me!
Is it the pericytes that perform phagocytosis, or is it both the pericyte AND macrophages?
Hi Dr Mike, how can I find out where the video's you have already made? Find you really direct and probably going to join.
Some said they had the cv test up the nose. The pain went down there spine and in the eyes area . There still in pain.

Oh
And now we know nanoparticles can transverse the barrier.
i wish my college professors were this hot then i would be able to pay attention 🤩
You did excellent in explaining this. But I have to say your drawing of the neuron looks like a penis. No foul Dr. Mike, it was quite funny, but maybe draw it different. (You just draw more strands at the synapse)
Anyone that studies the complexity of any of the sciences and believes that everything we obverse just happened by random mutation over billions of years, is wilfully ignorant (dumb on purpose).
FFS Keep still when you are talking.
