Speaking of having fun in Blitz I've really been enjoying Cheerios Boltyn, running zero Take Flights and zero V of the Vanguards.

Blaze & forked lightning. Blaze only requires 2 counters to play it because her hero text says "AN effect equal to", forked lightning has two effects that both deal 2 damage.

I'm jazzed for this Skirmish Season. I can't wait to bring my new Arakni SC list 😁

At Nationals, Blitz was amazing. I did as many Blitz events as possible and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of heroes there, and the feel over the overall balance of the format. There is a lot of blitz hate going around on the NET, X, or REDDIT. I think most of it is completely unfounded and actually is a bunch of rubbish. Heh, I did lose to DM Armada as Blaze. He was lucky and got both Prayers in early hands, so he could effectively keep me from blasting off for two turns and find his own combos with Emp. I think that any format has the ability to not be fun under certain conditions, but again with the ability to side board into blitz and better overall creativity in developing your blitz deck. A lot more people would actually see there are more options out there to play cards that are considered bad in CC. But yeah every format has top decks, and I hope that the CC players like the very predictable game-play of ZEN in CC because its probably going to be around for a while.

My city is doing 4 LL & 1 Blitz skirmish this season, I feel like LSS is slowly moving their focus away from blitz. Competitive events are moving towards draft & CC. There are so few BH blitz events this year.

It's up to the LGS's to choose - so you can ask/challenge them on that. Likely they have a small group of folks "in their ear" for LL... and the vocal (even if the minority) tends to get their way.

Why do you assume that Blaze is only the CF Prize for Top4? I would have guessed she is one of the 12 participation prizes.

I think it's a logical assumption - typically when there's a 12/12 split it's some type of 'cycle card' and/or rainbow heroes from a previous set. We'll see though!

Blitz is cool as there is less of a pressure to be super meta focused like CC Just pick a hero and try to build it

OK, am I wrong in getting the feeling that I can't keep up with all the new heroes? Are there too many heroes in blitz in order to understand the match ups? Or, is blitz such a fast game that I shouldn't worry about such silliness?

Interesting question. I think the answer is both 'yes' and 'no'. They are adding more heroes to blitz than the points mathematically avialble can balance - meaning the total # will keep growing. So in that sense, practically, yes. That said, there are a large number of those heroes that aren't really blitz viable. Melody. Kavdaen. Etc. So in that aspect, even though they are legal, they aren't really concern that you need to be teched/tested for. Not intending to dodge your question, but I think that's an accurate picture of the situation.

I'm all for people having fun in Blitz. But I also want to have fun. Getting four intimidate turn 0 followed by 18 damage is not fun. I come to armories to play the game and this is actively stopping me from playing the game. There's nothing to do after I get high rolled and the match ends in three minutes. And you damn well know I'm not asking my opponent for a rematch, because I'm not into getting bullied just for the fun of it.

Hopefully Rhinar LLs this season. Cause he is the main reason I enjoy Blitz a lot less than years pass.

@@Dergenable It's not really an issue of Rhinar only, at least from my experience. Playing against Blaze feels the same. I was expecting that "Once per turn Instant" would make it a bit slower wizard than what Kano was, but once I got bodied by two full hands of arcane where not even AB3 seemed useful, I went outside the store after the five minute match to recollect my nerves. Teklo Pounder Dash has the same issue, where you're just hoping to outlast the gross damage output the deck has while hoping she doesn't draw into the second copy before the first one runs out, otherwise +4 power for free every turn is an instant GG, though it's not as bad as some heroes. I'm not saying those issues aren't present in CC as well, but with double the life total, it's a bit different feel when you get bodied for 45% of your total HP vs. 90% of your total HP with no counterplay save maybe switching to fatigue guardian.

@@DominikSpilka Thats a good point man. I haven't had any games against Blaze yet but I totally believe it. Maybe theres a huge Blitz B&R announcement before Skirmish season targeting some of the most degenerate things in Blitz like Dash, Rhinar and Blaze.

it's just so amazing to play better all teh game and losing to a swingy turn... or just having dash boosting out 30+ damage on turn 1 in a format where you have 20 or even less life

Sorry you don't enjoy the format. I don't think anyone would argue w/ the blow-out potential, but in my experience it's not as common as people argue. Blaze is a legitimate problem - but I'm holding major judgement on that until after B&S. That said, feel bads are feel bads and you're entitled to that.

kinda sad such an awful format like blitz being such an "important" part of the game... it's inherently broken and swingy as as inaccessible as CC nowadays... truly sad format

Its fine if you dont net deck, or if you tone down the majestic count in your decks, or if you play precons. Its very fun if you dont mind purposefully dialing the power down just a bit.

@@hamsandwich6685 do you aggree that if the format is better when not played as intended then this is a huge flaw of the format right? and fab is an highly competitive game... it is meant to be played competitively... so yeah, "play for fun" is really cute if you have an playgroup that don't want to play the game as intended

@@juliobbeltran sure. I can agree with you on that. Blitz as a competitive and constructed format is broken. Zen and rhinar can otk on a good top deck before you even get a turn. My point was that you have to play it more for fun, in order for it to be way less swingy. Then it actually is a very fun game. Commoner is great as a competitive fix for blitz, but blitz as a constructed format that includes legendary and majestic cards is not good for competitive or armories right now Basically constructed blitz is for upf currently, and that format fundamentally changes deck building in general.
