Honestly feels kind of nice being able to ignore a majority of certain sets if I am uninterested in the heroes. And you can still enjoy the new release in draft/sealed if you want

Is it a hot take to want to engage with every set of a game you love beyond just limited? Especially when it's only 3 sets a year? haha 😅

@RedZoneRogue it's probably all the product fatigue I have from mtg the past couple years. But I also think you still get to engage in sets even if you don't want to play limited because the meta shifts and expansion slot tends to give some goodies to other classes. That's not to say your point isn't valid. Just a different perspective

I think that the lack of needing sideboard support for arcane and the fact that kano wears the arcane facemask right now is a big reason why arcane might seem hard to block, but again, not every matchup is going to be favored, and I think if we remember that kano thrives on sending multiple things all at once on both turns and makes it vbery hard to arcane barrier him. These heroes will not be that. Not being able to give up 2-4 sideboard slots to make a decent MU seems silly honestly. If it is that bad of a MU then that happens, part of why there are always triangles in fab. I am very excited to see how this changes the game moving forward. Also, nice video, I enjoyed watching it! ❤

Bill raises good points regarding arcane damage. Maybe LSS can introduce "Arcane Block" cards; the effect can be like "Prevent the next 3/2/1 arcane damage that would be dealt to you this turn" or yeah, more cards along the lines of Battlefront Bastion but can be specifically just against arcane, so it's not same-y. Anyway, James Bonds. 😎

Different Aurora arts could be the "gold pack" hero and art vs the normal Aurora hero.

@@RedZoneRogue No, I don't think so but there was mention in the announcement about Aurora would be particular note to new players or something. So maybe this is a new welcome deck? Good catch btw on the different artworks for the young hero!

I don't think the "Hero Problem" you guys talked about is a thing for most people. Skipping a set once a year feels good for my wallet... I really don't want to keep buying a bunch of new cards every 3 months like when I played MTG.

I really enjoy upgrading my decks every new set. It's one of the reasons why I love tcgs so much. Skipping a set (or several in a row) is a good way to make me uninterested in your game

I can see Bright Lights being the worst offender in this matter. In that specific case, I guess I'm with you. But they could have released a couple more ancillary products at that time and alleviate the situation. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with how things are being handled.

That's not even touching upon the potential effects that it might have on the LGS or LSS as a whole. It's why we brought it up to James directly in our interview with him last week.

​@davironanbelo7956 yeah. Grand Archive releases support for every class (almost) every set and it's great. Shadowverse Evolve does too and I'm legit stoked to update all of my decks this week when the new set drops

I’m about half through the pod so sorry if y’all mention this but during the reveal it was mentioned that the young heroes have different abilities than the adults

@@RedZoneRogueyeah I just re listened and at least for Florian he said this ability will change for adult. My guess is you need to banish 8 earth cards before effect. But even if this is something different, I like that they’re actually balancing hero abilities to make more sense for the blitz and limited format versus just matching the CC version .

Don't we already have enough runeblades?! Probably going to skip this set, aside from the blitz deck box that I collect. But that is fine since I went got a couple boxes in both Heavy Hitters and Part the Mistveil.

You mean the 2 runeblades that are borderline unplayable?

Picked up a ton of foil and promo lighting stuff stuff this morning for decently cheap.

I think there is two Auroas because one is for the first strike deck. Idk if that was spoiled at the time this was recorded lolol

It wasn't however the one shown in this video is "common" while the first strike is "rare" rarities - so it doesn't line up perfectly

Pulling cards from outside the game could very easily be a problem. MtG had the companion cards in Ikoria, and those "outside the game" cards warped several formats.

As a Viserai fan I hate this set. Let my boy win some games before you make him the 3rd best Runeblade again😩. I’m sure by now you’ve seen, but it appears the second aurora art is for the first strike decks.
