Blind Test // 90s Hardcore / Gabber - Episode 15 (Electronic Beats TV)
Музыка
After receiving many requests for this one, we finally deliver! With episode fifteen of our ever popular Electronic Beats Blind Test series we shift focus to the early nineties Hardcore / Gabber Sound. Joining us is Dutch Gabber Godfather Paul Elstak, Industrial Strength legend Lenny Dee, Dutch Hardcore connoisseur The Darkraver, Polish eastern rave revivalist Wixapol, New York-based DJ, producer and radio host Kilbourne and living hardcore encyclopedia Gabber Eleganza.
As always follow along and see how many records you can name, kick back, enjoy and stay safe out there.
Please note this video is not filmed in real time. It’s edited to create some tension so that you in front of the screen can guess as well. It doesn’t say anything about how fast the participants recognised the track etc…
All contestants receive one point each for getting both artist and title correct and only half a point if they can only guess the artist or the title.

There was no niche to fill or criteria to meet back then. Now we know what hardcore etc is, you have to have certain things to fit into it. So people end up trying to hard to fit into it rather than doing something purely because it sounds good I think
Love how hyped Darkraver is.
The Darkraver is the showman with super positive vibes ❤️
Brain Crash is such a special memory for me, because we actually met Hardsequenzer at a computer party, where he was playing the songs directly off Oktalyzer on his Amiga on a giant set of speakers be had brought. We had no idea who he was at the time, I don't think his music bad been released yet. We were a small group of bedroom techno producers, and we were all completely blown away by the kind of quality he managed to pull off on this very limited hardware and software. It was a unique time and a privilege to randomly discover this music before it hit the raves 😄

I experienced Lennys first hardcore appearance in Sterns in 92 and it blew my mind. Whenever he played in the South or London i was there. Sterns, Eurobeat 2000, those are some precious memories. London Gabber/Speedcore/Acidcore scene was a special time. Around Brixton with Dead by Dawn partys at the squat at Railton Rd, the Dogstar. Special times! 🔥🔥🔥
