Karen and Erika (the mass media club girls) are actually the protagonists of a kaguya spinoff manga and let me just say you have no clue how far their love for Kaguya goes.

I kinda wished they would haven't separated the first part of today and the last part from last time, because this way, it isn't quite obvious how directly makis advice about not making the same mistakes she did led to shirogane deciding to progress. "why have theses characters not been in the show more" They actually have been in the show quite a bit^^. One of the fun thing when rewatching is trying to spot all the erika/karen cameos. You can even go back to episode 1 of season 1 as they are basically the first characters to speak in the show (of course heaping praise onto kaguya and prez). Even in this episode, they appeared earlier as the two girls that delivered the rejections that ishigami and miko reported on. I love ishigamis and kaguyas relationship so much, and there is no actual better way the author could have made kaguya confess than doing it through ishigami.

Yeah boy lets go for some Kaguya. This whole arc is just peak. Also Hayasaka best girl as usual.

You recognize Ryuju's voice because she is voiced by Saori Hayami who played Yor Forger and Ononoki.

Production notes Ep 6: Boarded by studio SHAFT regular Takashi Kawabata (he's showed up on Madoka, Monogatari, and Sangatsu). It was directed by Motoki Nakanishi. Ep 7: Boarded by series director Omata, and directed by A-1 Pictures in-house director Yuki Watanabe. Ep 8: Boarded and directed by Nobukage Kimura, whom Omata met on a prior series and seems to have a lot of faith in. Kimura later inviteded Omata to storyboard an episode of his own series, Slime Isekai 300. Both episodes are pretty creatively charged, so it shows their trust in each other.

Erika and Karen were the first speaking roles outside of the narrator since the start of the series! Coincidentally at episode 6 alone they were the girls being asked out by shirogane's bros + they were seen with maki and nagisa in the earlier seasons too -- they have been there all along!! The shenanigans in the spin off manga involving them with all the other students and main cast is HILARIOUS

51:58 but they have been shark, from Ep 1 of the first season, these are the two talking how incredible Kaguya and Miyuki are and almost having a fangasm thinking if they're a couple, and from that forward you would see this 2 girls in almost every event in the series that includes a rumor about Kaguya and Miyuki, but until now you have seen them as "only background characters"

The two newspaper girls actually have their own spinoff, where they go about in the background simping over kaguya and shirogane. It’s not officially translated, but it is unofficially

Its funny you mentioned the Spy Family parallel because I think both shows share a lot of similar qualities

I like how we both had the same reaction to Miyuki studying at Stanford. Every time California is mentioned in anime, it's usually Los Angeles, so it's nice to see the Bay Area getting some representation.

If your interested in the mass media club they have there own manga spin off called "we want to talk about kaguya"

If you end up deciding on the Rascal Doesn't Dream Series, that would be great haha, that's like almost the only thing on my top that you still haven't reacted. Or why not now that we opened the Romantic Comedy gate, go for Toradora, it's more dramatic but peak.

Unfortunately Rascal is too short to replace Kaguya. Because Kaguya’s replacement has to be a minimum of 30 episodes.

@@caseyp5861 well yes it's only 13 ep but then you have 3 movies, that compensates a bit, but yeah I know even with all is a shorter series, same for Toradora I belive there are only 24 or 25 ep and an OVA.
