A small detail that a lot of people miss, the demons start regaining there power for the past 28 years, and it was all after Himmel died. That shows how much the demons were scared of Himmel. Even Aura only came out and started regaining her power after Hummel's death. That shows just how strong Himmel was

@@skebaba918 Yes she was like a boogeyman to them, but she was not going around actively hunting them like Himmel was. Recall she did basically nothing for the 50 years after they defeated the demon king. She probably had not killed a demon since the demon king, meanwhile himmel was actively hunting them

@@gabrielleandro5681 Heiter was actually traveling looking out of things on his own, just not directly fighting, I mean, he is a priest. That's how he found Fern and took care of Sein and his brother when they were little. Himmel had a huge impact on him. Sometimes genetics play a role and... I mean he is a priest, he could heal any wund that came at him with no problems, so physical wounds did nothing to him.

Couple of fun fact with no spoilers - names are actually relevant german words ie. Stark means "strong", Lügner means "Liar". The Stark's and solar dragon's fight in the manga is actually just couple of simple panels but MADHOUSE studio decided to show off their animation chops early on and fleshed it out as proper fight scene, and you'll see that more in the series where they very subtly enrich the story in animation. Frieren the slayer japanese pronounciation is "Sousou no Frieren", same as the title of the series which can be translated as "Frieren at the funeral" like in the first episode.

This is probably something that most people would pick up at this point, but when Frieren killed the younger demon, she said one down as "ipiki" that's the counter for animals, and a fast way to get across a character's opinion on a whole species.

More german Words: Ep5: Wille = will Einsam = lonely Stark = strong Riegel - bolt/latch Ep7: Lügner - Liar Draht - Wire Linie - line or trace -The Concept of the Demons in Frieren is a nice change compared to other Storys since the demons here are predators who hunt humans for food. When that demon kid in the flash back was saying she wanted a peaceful life, she was talking about her life not the villagers. She only sees the villagers as food stock, like the way we see cattle. We don't make peace with our cattle but what we do is tame them so it is easier to harvest. Ep8: -In this World, every Race that is not a Demon (Humans, Elfs, Dwarves) are considered part of Humanity, hence they all use "Humanitys Magic" -The actual Japanese title of the manga, Sousou no Frieren, which has two meanings. One is "Frieren at the Funeral" which is generally what happened to start the season (Her being at Himmel's) and now we get the other translation/meaning of the title which is "Frieren who sends (one) to their Funeral/"Frieren the Slayer" or "Frieren the Undertaker" Sousou here being a verb (sending someone to grave), though its hard to make a 1/1 english Translation.

Actualy the literal meaning of "sousou no Frieren" from japanese is "Frieren at funeral" but is also have double meaning "Frieren who give a burial"

I love how on the nose all these names are if you speak german. Lord Lügner is straight up called "Lord Liar".

Flamme, at least in German, is pronounced like Flahm-meh Stark is also pronounced Shtark

That "Frieren the Slayer" was also the Title drop. Sousou no Frieren the japanese Title can also have this meaning.

When Stark asks where they are headed to and Frieren answers 'Heaven', it literally means Himmel in German. Thought it was really sweet and wanted to put it out there:)

she did it to dispell the Eisam's illusion spell. she did a high density spell attack, which dispelled it. remember the Einsam covered the whole forest in a mist making it appear as nightime while the sun was still up. Frieren just broke that illusion that shrouded the whole forest area. which helped fern and helped her to clearly see the actual monster, and aim her attack at the Einsam's body so that she doesnt have to g othrough the unpleasant experience to sh00t at Heiter's image/mirage/memory. She did it for Fern

I also love the title at the end. Oshi no Ko also did it at all the episodes and tried to end every episode with a revelation or high point then cue the ending and then present the title, that create some great moments. I also like a lot what The Dangers in my Heart does, they present the title in whatever most relevant moment in the episode but they reveal it in parts while the story is happening and when the whole title shows it's the peak of the chapter.

I knew before watching ep 8 that the show in Japanese was called sousou no Frieren, but i didn't knew what is means until that line at the end of the episode, and that's good I would have been pretty confused the first episodes with a title like Frieren the Slayer. (Also I know that's not the best literal translation of the title, but sometimes localization is more important than translating literally)

Watching this made me think that Draht's magic must be very good at decapitating heads... Then I realize that's why they're called executioners. They were the ones (at least) that chop the soldiers' head off...

I think these stretch of episodes is the strongest section of the series imo even though everything is great. From Stark’s dragon fight to Frieren’s reveal as a demon slayer we get straight peak

The japanese title of the show "Sousou no Frieren" translates roughly to "Frieren of the Funeral", it has a double meaning, one is that she is at Himmel's funeral at the beginning, the other one is that the demons call her "Sousou no Frieren" (translated here as "Frieren the Slayer") meaning "Frieren, who sends you to your funeral". The double meaning is hard to gleam in english, so they just made it the worst possible title instead.

while the english title unfortunately loses the double meaning, I'd say "Beyond Journey's End" is a very fitting title for the show given the theme - wouldn't say it's the worst possible title. at least commenters can tell reaction youtubers the double meaning to fill in the gaps

Fern couldn't hurt yhe dragon because he is specifically resistant to magic, so mages are a bad match up. Frieren of course win even in a bad match up, but Fern isn't. Usually I'd say Fern is above Stark, not that it's a problem though, I'm sure stark don't mind having Fern on top.

Bocchi The Rock! spoilers ahead: Sousou no Frieren's director, Keiichirou Saito, is the same director as Bocchi The Rock! And in both series they had a character do a title drop, have the episode's end be a title drop, the chapter name itself being a title drop, and all of that being done in episode 8 for both series.

To be fair, if a species is going to go extinct for any reason, it being because they just don't have enough new offspring is probably the best possible way to go. Presumably the currently living Elves are still having rich, full lives, doing their own thing, like Frieren - there just aren't very many young Elves anymore. Compared to dying out from a meteor impact, natural disaster, or a global ice age, I think just not having any babies is the far better option. 😁

Not that´s really important or anything but: Flamme has two syllables. Flam-me. The a is pronounced like in alpha, the e like in elephant. Also, my life would be complete if you start Mushoku Tensei after Frieren or Kaguya. Give it a shot with the first episode, you´ll see what people love about it.
