    I use this all the time at the range. It’s usually a buck or two cheaper than most everything else, cycles in all my guns and I’ve never had a single failure to feed or extract. It’s really reliable - for me at least. It’s a little dirty but as long as you clean after every 150-200 rounds, this shouldn’t be an issue. Another awesome video!

    When I was learning to shoot competition I went thru a bunch of this in training when it was cheap. I didn’t have any issues with it at all. There are competitors who fly to matches with this cause it’s lighter than brass case . Now I usually train with ammo that I’ll use at matches just to stay fine tuned on the recoil impulse.

    In my experience through an uber reliable Ruger P95DC (bought brand new in '96 and still running today), Blazer is some of THE best target ammo available-- price wise, accuracy wise, and reliability wise. However, I haven't used it since before 2020, so QC might have suffered some... Judging from Graham's vid, though, it hasn't. The only problem is if you're a "9mm reloader," you're out of luck-- but that's never been a problem for me... Great vid, Graham!

    During the ammo shortage the LGS had this ammo available. It shot very well. On a separate note I had the Blazer brass case 9mm ammo in which the bullet came off while using it on a revolver. Apparently it was not properly crimped and the recoil of revolver was enough to loosen the brass case /bullet seal.

    Shorter pistols tend to have more violent extraction. It's possible that simply isn't combining well with the expansion/contraction rate of aluminum or the light weight cases just aren't bouncing hard enough to eject. Getting beyond hyperbole, once you come across a round without adequate case-neck tension, where the bullet can be easily pushed further into the case/powder charge, like when the bullet impacts the feedramp in cycling, you might change your mind. As I have when it comes to watching gun reviewers on KZread when someone who has no experience in handloading takes to giving "expert" advice on ammunition. Try pressing the nose of those bullets in aluminum cases into a wood block to see if they move, provided you have a caliper, dial or digital.

  • @GBGuns

    @GBGuns

    Who claimed to be an expert? I've seen several brands and loads push into the case as a result of a misfeed. Toss that round and continue shooting, especially if shooting a gun without full chamber support.

  • @niveknyll6524

    @@GBGuns And in most cases it's the cheap ammo furnished to KZread types for advertising purposes to inexperienced shooters, and most often associated with malfunction issues, or being so lightly loaded it won't properly function a pistol's slide. The condition I described in relation to Blazer 9mm ammo occurred without ever putting a round into a chamber. And then checking multiple rounds within a single box of 50 rounds. Fortunately, I had handloading experience by that time and was just looking to pick up some inexpensive 9 x 19mm. That was the LAST time I ever did that. And pressing the nose of a bullet into a wood block, then measuring for any shortening of the cartridge before you trust any of them is never a bad idea regardless of its price since most already know that repeated cycling of rounds at the top of the magazine and previously chambering them, like say their favorite defense load, those loads will shorten. In cases of more than a couple of a thousandths of an inch, that ammo is best avoided, period. Your presentation speaks for itself when speaking of what you DON'T know, and your slight jabs at handloading you know nothing about, so please continue and enlighten us on the metallurgical or elasticity differences between aluminum and cartridge brass? IMO, aluminum cartridge cases are a bad idea based on the evidence from experience. Not by waiting for a catastrophic event like the bullet being pressed into a charge of the cheapest fast burning powder that yields minimum case-fill. Maybe you're familiar with the term Ka-Boom. And people who you might be referring to that make improper handloads . . . shouldn't be handloading in the first place.

She called home and asked if I needed anything and on a whim I asked her to grab me two, 50 round boxes of .45 ACP in Winnie white box or Blazer Brass. She came home and handed me a heavy bag and said "Your precious bullets are in the bag" and I said thanks, opened the bag and saw two, 50 round boxes of Blazer Aluminum. I pointed out to my wife that there really is a difference between nonferrous metals and that she grabbed the wrong boxes. My wife actually felt bad and was going to take them back and I said "There is a difference between returning a regular item and returning bullets but it is ok hon, these work but I will lose out on 100 pieces of brass for future use" and she said she will pay more attention even after I told her 5 times that it's no big deal. I went out to my back yard with 52 rounds loaded in 4 mags and shot them up and was surprised at the accuracy that I got out of those rounds so I went into the house, grabbed the remaining rounds and shot them up with very good results. I never had a FTF or FTE problem out of those 100 rounds either and I was impressed. I lost out on 100 reloadable cases but I definitely got my money's worth in fun and learning that maybe Blazer Aluminum isn't as bad as some people think even though my test case was only 100 rounds
