UFC mixed martial artist Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and basketball star Blake Griffin are featured in a new episode of The Crossover, where the Clippers big man was put through a session of knee-kick maneuvers, pummeling, grappling, hand fighting, and precision elbow hooking. Cerrone, the 32-year old #2 ranked lightweight in UFC, highlighted the important of balance, hand position and letting the hips do the work so the whole body is creating power. This cross training episode is the last chapter of an original three-part web series where Griffin cross trains with elite athletes from the world of sports to prepare for the upcoming basketball season. The first two episodes featured Griffin practicing hand-eye coordination with handball legend Timothy “Timbo” Gonzalez and training with Olympic track & field star Carmelita Jeter, focusing on sprinting technique, starts and fast-twitch explosion.

Please continue this series! Either w/ blake or another athlete. This series is extremely informative and it's interesting seeing professional athletes out of their element, good motivation as well.

auchucknorris Well apparently since you think he went training to learn elbowing or what not you are clearly under the assumption that he is doing this for any other reason than the money Red Bull is paying him. So even though it didn't go past even a witless fuck like YOU that this is a Red Bull commercial, you don't seem to understand that this is scripted and Blake at best is enjoying a new experience, but in no way is learning anything he is going to apply to his Bball game.

Blake arm-punches, which is normal for a rookie, but he's got great eye for fundamentals. You can see that he's eager to learn as well. He could be a good fighter if he putted the time in.

This is a super cool video. Awesome to see different athletes talking about their respective sports and how they relate to each other. Wouldn't mind seeing a follow up with how Blake was able to implement this.

+tikiiz Blake's like 6ft7 barefoot. See him walk through that 6ft8 doorway at 0:55. Wearing shoes which make him 6ft8 and not standing up fully straight he still has about an inch of clearance. If he were to stand up fully straight under the doorway his head would just touch the top of the doorway.

loved this! I heard him talking about it on JRE Donald is easily one of my favorite fighters hope to see him win that lightweight strap!!
Blake has one of the best physics in the whole of professional sports, I'd take his physic over Dwight Howard's as far as basketball players go, he could turn his hand at any sport and do well, he's a physical marvel.
This is a great series; crossovers, collaborations and sharing ftw.
His laugh is beautiful.
this is awesome that a ufc fighter can help another athlete in a different spot be better in there sport
More of this please!
Wow... Definitely New and different, loving this Blake Griffin Crossover series

If you are athletic at anything it is easy to adapt to that environment. Athleticism is not just physical, but mental as well.
What a cool series!
I really like this series so far. Not sure why. Maybe because I'm learning a little. It's also pretty cool to see just how much goes into these sports.
imagine if MMA were more popular than the NFL and NBA. So much raw talent in both those organizations. Would like to see how lebron james(probably bad idea), or ray lewis, jj watt, etc wouldve turned out if they fought in the UFC
Love this series. Hope there are more episodes to come. I'd love to see something like Blake Griffin getting trained with a professional ballerina for balance and jumping.
Man I thought I was watching a J.J. Abrams movie with all that lens flare lol

awesome stuff
this is awesome
this reminds me of when Kareem fought Bruce Lee in that one movie😂😂
Really cool! I like the mutual respect and athleticism both dudes posses. Good times!
imagine his kicks, fucking godly reach, then you FINALLY get close and realize he's also a grappler, lol
This gets me pumped to work out
Next thing you know "blake griffin with a flagrant 10 foul😂😂
Blake has really good movement for a first timer, talented athlete
Awesome videos
Blake Griffins gonna be looking to fade someone this season after doing this
this was great
Good stuff
If Blake goes on to win MVP, or the Clippers win it all, or if he even has a great season, I would be interested to see what he would say as to if these cross training sessions benefitted him, or even changed the way he trains. This and the sprint workout seem especially practical.
Awesome fighter, awesome baller....awesome video! Thanks for the share! :)
blake should do more of these mini series in other sports as well football rugby sumo rodeo tennis golf bowling pool swimming badminton... there is a universal connection on all sports
Red I'll got to get him to do water polo ! That would be so intense because of the physicality and the wrestling that goes on all while your trying to keep from drowning !!!!
very good!
Blake Griffin & CM punk vs Mcgregor UFC 211

Khabib vs Cerrone in a grappling match please
i Love it!
1:50 I love when athletes from different sports talk specifically for moments like this. I bet most people who don't watch basketball have no idea how aggressive it is.
@MA-ii3gm

Shayn Walker yea, many non contact sports can turn agressive as long as they have competitive players, probably not as "dangerous", but the mind state is there, i love it
they looked like they're hugging brutally and repeatedly lol
You can only see one time B.Griffin shooting in the video and he's doing travelling. Hahahah.
Cowboy knows his shit
Cowboy is the man!!!
I got a feeling that Blake will b an MVP soon...
I like Cowboy....:))) Awesome individual
Blake might be one of the strongest quickest people in the world for his size.
This where Blake learned to fight his equipment manager
Never knew about open hand elbow less chance of cutting your elbow with the muscle not coming over the bone better chance of opening your opponent with that sharp hard point of the elbow
smart thinkig
the sweat though
hes a quick learner
Donald Cerroni on his way too being a champion. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jesus Blake Griffin is big
his mma training is now paying off . XD
What shoes is blake wearing in the first 20 secconds of the vid ? someone1 plz respond

Professional athlete peer network
I think Dana White probably talked to the NBA or the other way around. It seems the UFC is making that final push to firmly and forever cement themselves into mainstream.
reebok, jordan and redbud all in one video
Do it red bull water polo !!!
How hilarious would it be if Blake just stayed in slow motion for this entire video?
I want to see Blake in mma
You guys Blake Griffin is 6 inches taller than Ngannou and about 10 times as athletic. He could start training right now and be the greatest heavyweight in like 2 years. Nba athletes are on a whole different level.
2020 gang who is here
most rounded actor in the NBA
Blake was training for the equipment manager
Who's idea was it to put the lighting outside where there's already natural light? Cant see him on the window scenes
All of this just so Ibaka doesn't kick his ass again..... good Work Blake lol
shoulda made Blake do flying knees
I thought it was Chris Humphries for a second.
Can't let strangers go to JW so they went here lol
Cowboy is not a little guy... But Blake makes him look small 🤣
Private training sessions with Cowboy, that had to have cost some $$$$
I want to see Cowboy vs Blake in a street fight lol.
