Doesn’t take 5 years to write a story or script for a comic book movie. Too many cooks in the office wanting different things

She was brought to the project last year M Ali has been on this project for five years now. I don’t think she would be positive about it if she had to wait 5 years and nothing was going forward.

They better be looking for a new actor because he’s going to be senior citizen when this movie is made 😂😂

Blade was announced just before the pandemic and with all the strikes going, and the switch from overproduction to trying to restabilize, I think that answer makes sense, however I really just hope the movie is worth the wait. It’s gotta be spectacular.

Marvel asked me to write. I turned it down. I heard they offered it to my ten year old niece. Who is writing the next version now?

They should be a betting in las Vegas on which director will leaves Blade.

Im starting to wonder if I care about Blade.

She was a total pro in that interview. I think the question was inappropriate at a premiere for another film; but she handled it well.

When it was announced i was worried about Maharshala's age in the long run. So now im just hoping he's been recast. Id rather have a decent actor for the long run than an amazing actor for one movie. Thats just me, i care more for the universe than the individual movie.

I think the main reason is they don't know how to introduce vampires to the mcu.

The reason I'm so annoyed with the delays on this film is because it's Blade. A movie that requires very minimal VFX and CGI. If this was the next Avengers movie I'd be more understanding. But a movie that can be made with just having a guy fight vampires should never be this problematic.

The 2nd Blade had a F-ton of VFX and CGI. And it’s a great movie. Less CGI doesn’t make a great movie. A great story and cast and director does.

Maybe the original writers for this movie got blipped, and now that it's 5 years later and they're back, they can finally finish the script

I get that they want it to be the best Blade movie since Blade 1998, but come on, we're getting a little fed up.

There’s nothing to defend the movie has been an absolute train wreck and they haven’t even started filming it. They just need to cancel it and go back to the drawing board. It’s a complete joke at this point they’ve already had three actors drop out of it along with a couple of the production crew.

To be fair we are living in an era where remakes are heavily compared to originals. Wesley Snipes version gets so much praise, I can understand the hesitation. Especially now, as the MCU is in a rut.

This better be in the top 5 best Marvel films to be released after this long ass delay.

They should try to see if they can get David Goyer to right blade. Because he did a bang up job on the first two films. Not so much the third film because he wrote and directed it and he’s a terrible ass Director.

Yet Jurassic World has become FILMING before most people even heard there was another one coming. Let that sink in. Not gonna mention Captain America…..(cough cough)……what do they have in common⁉️

Blade is becoming the new Flash. It's just that I don't care as much.

Why we jumping into a story arch where we pick up from the point of Blade having kid problems..smh

I think marvels problem for blade is they had an actor before they had a script, I didn't think they are used to working on a project that is not in development

Question: So if this script is constantly changing are roles constantly changing as well. Who knows if she makes the final version of the movie. Or if she still wants to be involved in the final reason.

The longer it takes to make Blade the longer it will take for us to get Midnight Sons.

I think this movie will eventually come out great(assuming it eventually happens).

I think he's stopping it from being trash. Like Cavill tried to do with the Witcher. Since the leaks about the story sounded horrible. Almost like they were sidelining Blade in his own film.

Well here’s the thing, maybe I would’ve believed that all the countless delays were because they wanna make sure the movie is great *IF* Marvel didn’t seem confident as hell in the project when they first announced it, they literally had the entire lineup of Phases 4 & 5 shown to us then they unexpectedly dropped the bombshell that a Blade movie was coming, they literally had it up on screen all by itself, and then they brought out Mahershala Ali onstage, I’m sorry but if you guys were *THAT* confident when you first announced it then saying something like this just sounds really phony, if it was announced alongside the other projects in the same fashion I could understand but like I said, they were confident as hell when they announced this movie and so it just doesn’t sound believable

We'll just have to keep waiting now, won't we? 🤷

As for Me since i finaly saw X and Pearl with new Superman in it. I think Mia would be cool be in Blade. Yea, they should make a beter Blade then the original two films. Yea those are on another level.

Nah Mahershala Ali is perfect casting. He’s the only actor I can envision capturing Snipes’ signature brand of swagger for that role. He’s getting up there in age but honestly you can’t tell, dude looks like he’s in his late 30s

Here's the thing. When Blade was announced, they didn't have a plan. That's the problem. Developing Blade has a problem no other Marvel property has: The legacy of Wesley Snipes. When people think of Blade, it's Snipes that comes to mind. Snipes' character choices and the aesthetic of the movie (costumes, music, etc.) were very unique and specific. Creating a 2024 version that will live up to that isn't easy. Ali is a great actor, but does he have the vision or hunger to come up with a character as strong and/or unique enough to differentiate from Snipes? Or is that solely in the hands of the writers and director? Not as easy as they may have first thought.

Blade is like the easiest film to make... none of the original movies was shakespear. Just give us John Wick with Vampires. Don't over comlicated....like adding a daughter....or Blade replacements like Blade Trinity tried. Just make a simple Blade film.

I mean. I believe it. They’ll definitely put some sort of politics in it, but they’re still trying to make a good film. Will it be good? Probably not, but I do think they are trying and are just not able to get it together right now. With all of the MCU films they try to make a good film. Sometimes they just can’t get it right because the politics takes the forefront. “You have to stop calling them terrorists” - Blacktain America referring to people who bombed a building of people.

I think the real issue is a battle of ideologies. Similar to Wesley Snipes’ situation, they want Blade to share the spotlight with a female heroine and Mahershala and all those directors are pushing against that. We’re never getting this movie

If its going to be like the first two no thanks. Now trinity was amazing

That’s a pretty HOT take. Blade trinity is regarded has one of the worst marvel movies out there (I freaking love that movie). It’s so bad to the point that all you gotta listen to is the actors and behind the scenes stories.
