It's her survival instinct, if she fails to learn the language quickly, she can't survive the environment and as someone has said above, she must have also faced discrimination so she must have worked harder and strove harder in order to cope as quickly as she did.

Army Min Yoongi Same, i moved into another country but I only know how speak Japanese and Korean. It was hard for me to go to school since I don’t understand English and French. In class, I have to stay quite and most of the time the teacher called me out to speak out and I burst into tears. The teacher asked a Chinese student to translate French to mandarin. I can’t even understand that person was saying. The teacher thought, I was Chinese even the Chinese kid was confused as I am. Years past, I’ve improved and still improving both French and English. In high school, I have to learned Spanish. It was difficult for me but I managed to stayed strong.

She has to be an inspiration for everybody who lives very far away from their families. When I was in Germany, I noticed that the people couldn't speak to me in English because of their poor level(in Spanish for sure not much too x'D) and I known some phrases and words, but it's not the same as when you're speaking to a person who knows the same language as you.

It must've been really hard for Lisa to learn a new language. And when she said that no one in the company was allowed to speak to her in english, my heart kinda hurt for her. It's really frustrating not being able to say what you want. But I guess YG did what they did since Lisa is a rapper. So kudos to her because she can now speak and rap in korean really well!
