Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro G2 Pro UNBOXING 2024

Фильм және анимация

What’s in the box??? See for yourselves ☝️
Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro G2… (seriously Blackmagic your naming of cameras……👀)
I don’t think I need to tell you what is this camera but if you were looking for a video to see what it comes with (not much haha) then this should do it.
Very special thanks to Jamie from bps-tv.co.uk for sourcing the camera and then organising a fast replacement 🫡

    The cameras don't come with a battery plate because you can pick what you want. Gold mount or V mount, or no mount and it is wired the whole time. Other high end stuff comes like that as well. Bought the G1 version of this and we had 3 that mounted the V mount plate and 3 that were mounted to stands with a bundle of cables running back to the directors room. When you get into gear at this level it is built by a tech on site to meet the needs of the company running it.

    I owned two Ursas (original 12k and a 6k broadcast) but have sold both in the last few months. In the United States commercial filming requires either a Sony or Canon camera and I got tired of getting passed over for gigs because production companies didn’t know Blackmagic. And for a long time BM had a lock on affordable cine cameras with internal RAW, by that’s not the case anymore, not to mention the lack of autofocus for the growing number of times you have to work without a crew these days. I still have a couple of Pocket CCs which will suffice for some passion project work, but I now have a preorder in on a C400 and I will be building my professional kit around Canon from here on out.

    well it depends if you want to work for someone or are you selling your cinematography as a skill for me I don't need to work for anyone so I chose the tools that work best to aid my workflow. you could easy get by using panasonic s5 or sony zve1 for the kind of wor I suspect you do

    @@CINENIMUS BM was compelling when internal RAW recording cost a great deal more than it does today. But with the C400 I will have full frame 6k RAW, triple base ISO, dual card slot recording, a much smaller and lighter body without sacrificing I/O, a customizable side handle, up to date subject detect autofocus when needed, far more flexible touch screen, not to mention a more robust build in general. Yes the 4.6 is cheap right now, but that’s because the design has fallen so far behind. Which is not to say it’s a bad buy. For those doing narrative work with all manual focus, it’s a fine deal, but it has definitely fallen behind my needs and expectations.

    Not sure where you're working or looking for work. I get work with BM, Panasonic, and Red. I have not been passed over for Canon and when they were king, I didn't want to deal with them. Autofocus is over rated. I like to have it, but often show a DP how good you can nail focus with practice and the awesome effects you can do when you don't let the camera do it's own thing. You will find more and more places are not keeping Canon. As they have been switching to more modern cameras they are going Sony, Red, and BM. Smaller companies are working with the same and Panasonic. I have seen a massive drop in Canon in the last four or so years.

    I think you'll find that if you compare the Ursa mini pro G2 with the Pocket 6k Pro and the full frame, while comparing all of them at the identical ISO value, that the Pocket 6k Pro will have more dynamic range than the others, regardless of BMD claiming that the Ursa G2 has "15 stops of dynamic range". They overstated its DR. Again, this will only work if you do the comparison at the same ISO values (I know you're aware of this, but some people on youtube do comparisons at "native" ISO which is erroneous, because as you've stated before, gain is gain)

  • @CINENIMUS

    @CINENIMUS

    29 күн бұрын

    You are very likely correct but there is no way to measure DR between 1 stop (which is what they actually differ on xyla charts in favour of Ursa). And yeah the “native” iso is bullshit I will match them with mapped HDR wheels - best way to precisely adjusting exposure just got to know how ;)
