Film Synopsis: From visionary filmmaker Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. In the early 1970s, Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) becomes the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a difference, he bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. He recruits a seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation. Together, they team up to take down the extremist organization aiming to garner mainstream appeal. Produced by the team behind the Academy Award®-winning Get Out, BlacKkKlansman offers an unflinching, true-life examination of race relations in 1970s America that is just as relevant in today's tumultuous world.

    When the black policeman have his first phonecall with the klan, it's David Duke. The policeman say "I hate the" dagos"a despective word for Italians (probably an ethnicity that the klan dislike). David Duke lived for a while in Italy from 2011 to 2013,italian mountains of Dolomites until a local court expelled him. He had a valid Visa from the Italian embassy in Malta. By the way, really I don't know why Italians are "Dagos". I read that it comes from the common name Diego but in my life (47 yo) I met only two people named Diego. It's more common as a Spaniard name.

  • @JoshSweetvale

    @JoshSweetvale

    Жыл бұрын

    Remember: Duke's 'racism' wasn't based on logic. It was 100% marketing. If the man could hang around non-racists he could hang around racists who were racist against a people he himself respected. Duke had _one_ goal. To grow the brand. And ironically, a veneer of tolerance did exactly that.
