So many things I like about this, most of which have already been said. It's actually rare that I think metal vocals are anything above merely "getting the job done" but I really appreciate clarity of enunciating consonants while still maintaining brutal power and emotion which only makes it more powerful. All metal vocalists should listen and learn.

As an indigenous person who loves all forms of metal....this is up there with Morbid Angel's Blessed, Emperor's Anthems, Carcass' Heartwork, Agalloch Ashes, this was the first album to move me in a long long time.

Absolutely. There is something very real about this project. Spiritual. Yearning. Urgent. Spectacular. it doesn't feel dark to me, as most albums in this genre feel to me (not to say that's a bad thing).

I want to see Black Braid play with Behemoth!!!

I Love Atmospheric, Cascadian, DSBM, Melodic, and some Traditional Black Metal. This guy has somehow molded all my favorites into one, with an amazing untapped version which is hard to describe. Even the instrumental tracks on this album are next level good. Agalloch, Alda, Woods of Desolation and Taake are my 4 favorites, and this guy just made it into that favorite list (very top). I am excited to see Blackbraid II. Also, I feel the folklore of Native American ideas/history/experiences expressed through Black metal is like a perfect medium for this. Black Metal is the the best genre to express nature, and Native Americans were the true first inhabitants of this land and experienced the raw nature of it. I love every part of this project.

I'll say it again , 'The River of Time Flows Through me ' is the greatest piece of Metal I've heard in the past 5 years or so . And one of the greatest songs ever as well . Greetings from Greece !

Truth!! This entire album is a true MASTERPIECE!

I was recommended this by a friend who loves Black Metal. I'm usually not into Black Metal genre myself, although I'm a big metalhead and a music fan in general. Two tracks in and I already love it! Absolutely love the fact that the album and the band's theme is Native American folklore/culture. This is how I always imagined an American Folk Metal to sound like. And the arrangements remind me a lot of old Skeletonwitch (especially Beyond The Permafrost and Serpents Unleashed albums) is a huge bonus for me!

Same here. I hate black metal, but I love this band. You know why we like this? Because it's NOT black metal at all. This is melodic death metal through-and-through. I have no idea why this band is classified as black metal. No idea why the band labels themselves black metal. It's not even close to being black metal, both musically and lyrically. We love this band despite not liking black metal, because this band is not black metal lol

I listen to all genres of Metal Music, D Beat, Crust Punk and Hardcore with the exception of Nu Metal (which I can't stand). Honestly though when Black Metal is executed to perfection like this is it blows everything else away in my opinion.

I was blasted as I listened to "The River of Time Flows Through Me" for the first time, and each time after it again. And the full album fits to that impression. Really fantastic music. Keep up the great work!

What sets this apart from other black metal is its concept. There is a theme running through the songs - actual stories being told. And a spirituality other than fake satanism. Sgah’gahsowáh is exploring and expressing his roots and his religion with genuine intent. We may not share the same belief system, but I respect and commend his vision.

Your music makes my heart feel intense. There really aren't many black metal bands that fill me with such emotion like this. It gives me comparable feelings like our traditional music does 🥹 such beautiful melodic blackness.

I went with some friends to VA Beach for the Pantera and Lamb of God show back in September, and we put on music in the hotel room. You guys came up, and I was immediately captivated. some native american black metal whoa this sounds like very well produced and cool indigenous elements tribal ones to the absolutely beautiful recording of that i mean these this album as a whole is a black metal masterpiece the fact that this can easiliy stack up to mayhem daemon as far as sincerty of the music and the style of playing and the atmosphere your wanting to create this has such a strong variety top notch compositions the very sudden rhythmic changes that frequently happen more with the second one cause you can hear the prgression he definitely been able to make with a very beautiful masterpiece here this is some holy native american black metal fire see now the flute comes in and silences me and that acoustic guitar sounds lie he sitting by a stream playing it just strummin away with the flute playing alongside so beautifully taking us on this really cool journey then the nice fade out and into Sacanda nice relentess drumbeat and guitar rif and it gets a little faster some deathly vocals sounds like fenriz of darkthrone the cool almost a rasp and the beat picks back up again i can definitely hear the bathory viking metal influences in there kinda cool

New Metal had been kind of sh*t for a while,but indigenous artists/bands like Bloodywood and Blackbraid are bringing it back.I am amazed and my old ass is getting unstuck from what I have been listening to for years.Loooove this sh*t...Living in the Appalachian Mtns doing both wildlife and paranormal research every night,this music is the perfect backdrop to that reality.
