Truly enjoyed the frequent before and after footage. For me, there is nothing better than performing the work and wiping away the polish. Seeing the improvement is very satisfying.

I just assumed it was non-metallic paint, like you did but when you did those close-ups on the tops of the doors it was amazing. As far as going above and beyond, well that speaks to your character like I mentioned in part 1 of this series, I wouldn't expect anything less😇 I bet this owner will be so blown away that he comes back once a year for a maintence detail and probably some good carwashes too throughout the year🙂

I love forced rotation

Great example with a shed Sandro! And I need to take away my hat (sorry, winter hat, we hqve winter now))) - extreme transformation from dirty duckling to a prince. Honestly I had expect the perfect result (knowing the plan, limited budget, etc), but the actual result has blow me away. The result not only after hard job, but clever head with clever and clever thoughts. Anothe thing Sandro (I am saying this as a joke, please understand me correct and I am engineer myself and saying the same to myself) - laziness is great mover to the perfect and genius ideas. It is the same with to find out the best combination for one stage correction - spend time for testing and make it in one step after for less time total and less stress. This is not exactly the same as laziness, but the logic as well and I hope you got what I mean ))) Fully agree with all the Guys who were amazed to see metallic paint, looks even like a pearl after you gave it the second life (maybe twenty second :-)). Probably you should try the zenith technique as the Mille is more like a rotary than a DA polisher. Helps finishing better with a medium polish

When im doing my one-steps, I try my best to bring myself to your standards. It's kind of like when your first learning golf and how to swing properly, and you go through all the steps in your heads before the swing. Thanks again Sandro.

I've heard some stories that some people are finishing the whole car, correction and protection ceramic in 8 to 10 hours and i thought that i'm very slow myself! After i heard that you spend 12 hours just for correction i felt a very big relief :-) ...

People are definitely finishing whole cars within a day and I did that myself in my mobile detailing days. But that doesn’t mean the standard you can achieve or the result is the same compared to given a little more time. There’s a lot of leeway from what I’ve person thinks is a great results to another 🙂

Sandro did you ever considered starting a patreon. I believe it’s a great way to get a little closer contact with the people that really like your work and are willing to pay a couple bucks a month. I would be the first subscriber

I have considered it (would probably use Locals instead of Patreon), but it’s really the struggle with time to provide potential patreons with added content and support that’s the hardest thing to overcome at this particular point but creating a community is certainly so something I’m interested in given that extra time to do it right.

Me for example am jealous of your dust control. I just finished a black car with basically the same tools as in this video. Just the dust difference is certainly noticeable. Would love to have a small chat about that. Or maybe it’s worth a video on its own. Anyway you doing a great job and make great content. Looking forward every week for the next video.

You had to have known I’m paint-correcting an SUV today. Absolutely invaluable video and motivator. I do think the biggest crux of this craft is this: Doing exactly what a customer asks-for…while refusing to let that stopping point be what the public regards as your finest work. It is a completely unfair equation that I believe we are destined to ‘lose.’ Meaning, we will go the extra mile. You can’t turn work away because the client doesn’t want a masterpiece, but you also can’t do half your capability and put yourself through the justification in doing so upon someone’s judgement or inquiry. Anyhow, I feel that this episode shows how anyone should combat that challenge. The sad truth is, anyone who understands paint correction and restoration detailing…..does it themselves! People don’t think a car from the dealer lot can look any better in the vehicle’s lifetime after the day they buy it. It’s our job to make them happy, but it’s also our job to prove them wrong. It is very tough to balance those two things and I think your right that a vast majority of car owners don’t know that a car can look even better than day one years diem the track without needing a new paint job! We are still a very small industry in the realm of car detailing but it is amazing how much it’s grown and seems to continue to do so!

Great video.great results. Build me a shed!! I know what you mean. I did some backyard work at my home...took a long time and results were less than stellar. - most of my detail work is one step / AIO type, and yes, my tool of choice is forced rotation. Flex 3401 or the new XCE cordless.

I wouldn't expect anything less from you Sandro. Beautiful work as usual. One should always strive to go above and beyond the customer's expectation. It doesn't take that much more effort to achieve this and the customer will always remember it and tell others about it too. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. Get it wrong, the consequences can be harmful, but in your case Sandro, it's all good.

A diamond in the rough. Just awesome to see those metallic flecks revealed. I can build my own shed, but would love to have you detail my car - just a minor problem of being on a different continent. Your fellow Australians are lucky to have you.

I Love Wool Pads, im a Big fan of Lake Country Lamb Wool [low lint/pile], with foam backing-- Rupes wool pads are pretty good also ! wasnt surprise by hazing from microfiber pad even with polishing product. too much heat for certain type of paint. choosing the right combination is an Art, [witch You Master and Demonstrate so well] Thanks to Your Teaching, my level of efficiency has raise to the next level with so much better results and time constraint management , keeping me profitable, and customer with best results possible! Kudos! :-)

Quite the turnaround, I'm sure the client lost his mind when he picked this up, not expecting it was gonna clean up this well. Hell, most of the time I do trashed black cars like these even I'M astonished at the end. I always think it's gonna end up being "meh" and I end up removing scratches and marks that I thought were hopeless. By the time I'm done, I look at the car and I stand in disbelief of just how far we can manipulate severely neglected car paint.

Next time, consider using a deminishing compound like TLD TheLastCut together with the Rupes Yellow Wool pad. It worked great on my Tesla. Good cut, gloss and clearity

Sandro you knocked it out the park with this 1 The postman always delivers Again You read my mind 2 of my work colleagues came up to me and asked what cutting compounds i use as i buy all my own cutting compounds They said the works cutting compound was leaving to much holograms and haze I watched both of there techniques and expalind there are a number of factors Both of them where hammering down on the paint, to fast of a arm speed, not cleaning out the pads covering to big an area I said it was not the compound it was the person holding the buff was the biggest variable (as you have said more than once) there faces where still blank The could not understand it was them and not the compound yes the compound is a small factor i said. Time can get away from you sometimes the best way to say it is The Bad news time flies The good NEWS is youre the PILOT Cheers IN SANDRO WE TRUST

100% correct! There’s not enough emphasis on good technique compared to combination selection and it’s all to easy to blame the products and tools when some little changes in our approach could make all the difference. Thanks mate always appreciate it!

I’m constantly blown away by your work. You are the master of detailing, Sandro. I look forward to all your videos. I’ve used foam and microfiber pads and understand the difference in them but how does wool compare to microfiber cut wise? I was wondering if I should add wool to my pad collection

Wool pads are no longer just wool pads! They used to be that tended to cut very well but finish quite poorly - and done still do. But with the introduction of the some newer wools pads like the Rupes refined wool pads they can now buy cut and finish extremely well. So it really depends on the specific pads!

Loving the work as always mate! I've seen so-called 2 steps that don't look as good as that! And that is something that worries me. I'd say the majority of people don't know a thing about detailing, with many having never even heard of detailers before, but I'm seeing A LOT more "repair" work coming through now, correcting the crap work of some idiot who went out and bought some kit and just started advertising themselves as a detailer. It's a shame as it tarnishes the reputation of genuinely great detailers. I think the way forward is what I'm working on now - building a partnership with independent local car dealers to build my work into the cost of car sales. Have even got one set up with a 50/50 car right in the showroom to properly show customers what can be achieved.

Thanks mate, and I unfortunately can’t see a vacuum being able to remove compound and clear coat residue from a pad quite as well as some highly pressurised and focused compressed air. It may be able to help but I’d be surprised if it would be as effective or as easy - I could be wrong!

Great job, Sandro! Question about NV Evo, how long do you leave it before wipe off and how often would you change out for a new MF cloth?

Thanks mate, and Evo bonds to the paint very rapidly so in most cases a couple of minutes is all you need before the wipe off unless it’s a very cold climate and I usually use about 6 cloths a coating so I’m switching to new cloths about a third of coverage in

Thank you mate and the taping is really a case by case thing - I think I had feeling I was going to have to get a bit more aggressive with the paint being so bad, so some extra masking was my insurance.

Hello, i really like ur videos, tutorials, testing etc. I learned alot from watching your videos, thanks :) Can i ask you, when i need 3 days to detail a car(1day washing/decon), (2day poslishing), (3day panel prep and waxing), and i have garage where is no zero dust, if i leave car in garage for night, when i come morning to garage i have little of dust on car. And question is: How can i take off the dust of the car after polishing and before waxing? or after washing and before polishing? I dont want to scratch it up after polishing. I think maybe fluffy towel and some ONR or panel prep to take the dust away, or just try polish and wax the car in one day?. Thanks for answer, sorry for my english i am from Slovakia. Cheers :)

I usually start by using compressed air to blow off any dust and then I follow up by doing my panel wipe down using some good cloths and a good gentle technique to remove any dust. If the space or garage is fairly clean and closed, then the dust should be quite minimal, but there’s always at least a little dust no matter what, so that’s normal.

Hi Sandro! As you put another great insightful video online, just a small question. Our lovely house cat jumped on my bonnet, but must have slid right back off and made some scrathes 😫... Luckily my car IS coated. Can I patch those scuffs up with a bit of CarPro Reflect? No experience with polishing ceramic coatings. Thnx!

Thanks and I’m glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately using polishing abrasives on ceramic coatings will tend to remove it or at least degrade the coating in my experience. If the coating was in good condition it hopefully helped take the brunt of those scratches so if you do want them gone you could still polish off the coating just on the bonnet and then reply it which hopefully shouldn’t be too much work.

I wasn't aware you can have a satisfying finish with one stage with wool pad ...

Thanks, and if you’re able to work clean, clean as you go and are in a relatively clean environment then an IPA should do it. However, if you’re not able to do those things then give the vehicle a wash if it needs it.

Hi, have you ever tried the Flex forced rotation Dual Action polisher, and if so what's your opinion comparing with Rupes or any others? Is it worth the money?

As I mentioned in part the owner didn’t want to remove the rack or seemed too fussed about the roof, so I just had to work around it.
