Black Speech: Sauron's Greatest Creation

Ойын-сауық

J.R.R. Tolkien’s constructed languages are among my favorite things in the entire world. And after you guys introduced me to Black Speech, I knew I had to make a video on it. So, here it is - the history, pronunciation, and purpose of the Dark Tongue of Mordor!
Please keep in mind that I'm not an expert and these videos are just for fun. With that said, enjoy learning some Black Speech!

“Sauron is so hot. I could fix him,” said the male “Superfan” in the Amazon video attempting to promote Rings of Power in I think Feb 2022. What is funny is that actually Halbrand was the handsomest guy on the show, except maybe for Arondir. Did you enjoy the screen time that Halbrand got? How did you feel about the backstory they created for him in ROP?

I know Sauron's real name was Mairon (Admirable) in quenian language, but this name that means "admirable" is probably the quenian translation from valarin (language of valars). I saw some pages where fans tried to "rebuilt" quenian names back to their valarin forms. The valarin form for Mairon is MAYAZÔNÔZ, so this will be probably Sauron's real name in valarin. Black speech is based probably on valarin, so the name "Mairon" in black speech will be probably a "perverted version" of the name Mayazônôz. "Nazg" from the black speech means "ring". "Naškad" from valarin also means ring, so is very probably that black speech is a perverted version of valarin.

Are you saying this as a person who speaks German and French? Honest question because I’m a German speaker who grew up in an English speaking country with people who keep saying German sounds “guttural “ but I found many of them cannot actually distinguish between spoken French and German, which is astonishing to me especially as many of them studied French in high school.

A, I, O, U in Black Speech sounds exactly like the vowels in Brazilian Portuguese. As a variant from vulgar latin, arab and, maybe old italian? Interesting. Also, for me it looks way more easier to pronouce than german, for example.

Lol funny but grammatically it’s not very different to Hebrew, beside the fact that in Hebrew you could squeeze a sentence like “one ring to find them” (and all the other similar sentences) into three word sentences. Also, three of the vowel punctuations (in writing) are borrowed from Hebrew punctuation.
