You know.....the natives were killing and dominating each other long before anyone else came in and knew how to dominate with higher success....if it was acceptable for your own to do it, why not other races? If you're ok with one race doing it but not another, maybe you're the actual racist? Every type of human status has taken from others and their own, some were just better at it than others. @aloden500

I love the implication in the sentence too, the mask actually didn't belong to his "tribe", he just stole it for personal use after talking about how wrong it was for the museum to do the same. it's great foreshadowing to his later actions like letting his girlfriend die, or planning to invade targets like china despite not being involved in black oppression, or planning to create the wakandan empire with the implicaton that the rest of the world will become wakandan colonies, he doesn't actually care about improving the lives of any black person he just wants to satisfy his own desire for revenge and anything that isn't a target is a tool to be used and discarded, the mask included. Sorry for the info dump I just love it when stories use little moments like that to give insight into how a character thinks. Edit: Yeah ok I may have jumped the gun with my comment about china. I was more talking about the use of military force and spies to directly seize power rather then the bullshit economic deals done by china. That stuff is bad but one sided trade agreements and predatory lending practices pale in comparision to slavery, genocide, coup detats and military conquest. Plus the city targeted in china is hong kong which was the victim of british imperialism and is currently the victim of chinese authortarism.

I wish he’d stick around for a while as well, but I also really love how they ended his arc. “Just bury me in the ocean with my ancestors that jumped from the ships because they knew death was better than bondage." It was a perfect final line for the character, and I’m not sure how much farther they could stretch the character’s storyline before it just seemed forced. But, I’m definitely okay with seeing him play killmonger again, his performance was *chefs kiss

That's what makes Black Panther such a great movie and both Killmonger and T'Challa such great characters. Killmonger is evil, he's willing to kill indiscriminately - but he's right about a good chunk of his argument/worldview. T'Challa is the hero, much more noble and altruistic, but he's swayed by the villain's argument and changes his perspective and approach to life. So much more nuance than pretty much any other MCU film/characters (even when compared to other complex characters like Loki).
