This takes place in the early 90s. The current editions in warzone with the guns as well as the maps are not going to be in BO6 if they're sticking the realism. I think they might stick to the old school war zone with only the base weapons in the game and maybe ww2 weapons ported but mw2 and mw3 weapons maybe not.

Having classic prestige back is amazing. I've been wanting it back for so long.

I do actually like the salvage system. It gives you more to do in the later rounds of zombies. I do wish they would rework the look of salvage, because I don't really like how mounds of ugly green or blue blocks drop out of every zombie killed, just to sit there on the ground until the player picks them up.

I'm tired of only having two factions for the multiplayer. Hearing the same two announcers saying the same lines the exact same way every match gets old. It's a small touch but each map having different factions with different announcers really kept the multiplayer fresh (at least to me) I don't see how the studios cant go back to that.

Yep, to this day nothing has done better factions than Black Ops. 6 different factions and I loved that those factions were tie to the maps locations. Havana and Villa they speak Spanish. In Jungle Cantonese. Snowy maps Russian. It was great to listen to other languages.

Isn't that exactly what the past few CoDs excluding Vanguard has done though? You still have two main factions but they splinter off into smaller ones with separate announcers depending on the map

people disliked the salvage system? It's a casual players wet dream, you can upgrade weapons, armor, and get grenades/specialist weapons using salvage which you get the salvage resources from doing things you were already doing. It's a great system in Cold War and I look forward to it in BO6.

End of August to early September works. The game launches October 25th. They said the Beta comes in the fall too so it matches up.

The whole Omni directional thing sounds like it could be fun but damn do I expect this to be abusable. I can’t imagine it won’t be broken in some way. In terms of the sharing between Multiplayer and Zombies, I’d argue that was a bad thing in Cold War. It didn’t allow them to do anything interesting with zombies, they were all generic characters with generic voice lines and no personality. The loadout system in zombies made the mystery box useless and I’d argue it felt like a pointless change that made the game more boring. I get what you’re saying about salvage but I’ve never been a fan of the “you can just choose not to use it if you think it makes it too easy” argument. People want innate difficulty, they shouldn’t have to actively ignore mechanics to force the game to be more difficult.

Loved OG zombies. Playing Coldwar, the salvage really grew on me. All my Zombie Killers team really like it too.

Zombies keeps Treyarch games alive for years. People still play WaW zombies and still go after world records. Why Treyarch doesn't value us more is crazy. Multiplayer people leave after a year. A maximum of two. We stick around for literally a decade sometimes. Why do we get so little love? Who cares about multiplayer.

Zombies players stick around FOREVER. We never leave. WaW, BO1, BO2 and BO3 all have active world record progressions at the moment. So cope harder. Multiplayer people always leave after a year or two. Because they cannot commit to these games. So no Zombies have always been the main mode of Treyarch games. Either you like it or not.

As someone who also doesn't like the salvage system, I don't like it because zombies shouldn't have weapon rarities and armor and that's what the whole salvage system is based around. The only upgrade the weapons should need is pack-a-punch, and having to gather salvage to upgrade the weapons to a higher rarity is just annoying. Obviously, MWZ made this even worse with not being able to upgrade without an aether tool, but I hate both systems since the weapon rarites seem redundant and are only in the game as busy work and to make you feel weaker in the beginning, as opposed to the old system where there wasn't nearly as much of a build up to getting stronger. I don't think you should be a literal tank from the get go, but having to go into games and basically spend a half an hour to upgrade all the tiers just so you can actually feel like you're doing something is awful.

I don't dislike the salvage overall, but I felt it was "too easy" to just buy really powerful equipment rather than doing a quest for them. Plus, having a bunch of salvage on the ground felt very... "video game-y" which broke immersion. It's a small issue, but... It's not game-ruining to me. Thank GOODNESS we have a set crew!

Also the only character of MWIII that will fully carry forward into BO6 (apparently) is Woods

Only reason I dislike salvage / weapon rarities is it made the mystery box and wall buys redundant, which is a core aspect of classic zombies. Now you can just use your spawn weapon for the entire game straight and it wasn't even worth using wonder weapons because they didnt contribute to camo or xp grinds.

That was the smartest thing they have ever done was not cross over MW weopons with BO6 weopons in MP & Zombies

Probably gonna get hate for speaking my opinion in 2024 but, I hate to say it, zombies don't have Easter Eggs anymore. Zombies is now a survival story mode that really leans closer to Dark Ops Arcade but in 1st person. I'd prefer the old way where the CoD community helps each other in trying to find the main EE which would take days, maybe even weeks to find, rather than some voice over telling you step by step on how to do it. Multiplayer scares me a bit in a sense that I feel like these newer CoD's are adding way too much, and what I mean is stuff like 200 optics you can choose from for your AR, like, wtf. Idk, I'm just a boomer who still lives in the BO2 age that can't accept this new age of CoD. I'm not even sure why I still keep coming back to CoD. I bought MWIII shortly after it came out and only just played my first MP game yesterday (which wasn't too bad actually). I just prefer the simple stuff over this new stuff that makes my brain hurt. Old challenges and a straight forward camo grinds, loved the addition and challenge of Dark Matter in BO3. Fantastic add. All in all, I'm just an old school guy who enjoys the simple Pre-CoD Ghosts times. Either way, love your content Ryan. Hope all is well on your end and good vibes to you my dude!

@@LunaPPKnot that we’re aware of as far as I know, especially the ops that aren’t story characters, could be a case of they trickle out ops as seasons go on are maybe they just don’t fit the theme or maybe they just wouldn’t be serving this long. it’d be nice to get some more interconnecting operators like Baker who was the great-grandfather to Battery from BO3.

Combination of salvage and the loadout system. Ring of Fire being the obvious pick didn't help, and even if you used a different ability you could spam them and they would save your life multiple times a round where you would have died in past games.

Classic prestige is great. I also like salvage, but I really am not a fan of MWZ in general. Most of what we’ve seen looks like it will be fantastic, but time will tell.

I think the Zombie mode will be almost identical to the "Cold War" Zombie mode. Similar to how all of the COD MP has been almost the same since MW2019 (Other than faster gameplay and a few tweaks here and there every title) To me, COD felt basically the same from 2006-2018, with advanced movement added in later titles but still COD. That was the original "COD era" and these new games are an entirely new thing. They just aren't as fun. It's like a "Generic" version of COD compared to the previous era

I guess I'm just used to actual games with some balance but I came back to cod after a decade or so break. Do they just keep tacking shit on without actually fixing or how does this work? There seems to be no weapon balance, snipers seem to be better than shotguns or smgs in cqb for some reason. MM is bad, spawning is awful. I personally liked the salvage system but i hated how easy it was to get to high rounds on zombies. The maps had no character in cold war either, it was so vanilla. 1911 start also needs to come back for me to really love it but I know that wont happen. Zombies got too simplified for plebs imo lol.
