Maybe head crabs can live for 20+ years. They are aliens after all, and who knows how long aliens can live for.

I love the detail going in black mesa like what just happened, all though the head crabs species being horrifying parasites that will latch onto you and mutulate your body , but it is cute when it’s more docile and less aggressive….

I think they wanted to give npc_eli and npc_kleiner a use, so they gave them the same outfit as any other scientist model and placed them somewhere where they fit, i suppose because many HL1 players assumed the 2 scientists at the start we're eli and kleiner that's where they placed them.

Before they went to Steam’s Early Access in 2015, you could get the mod in 2012; the only catch back then was the game stopped at the end of Lambda Core

Or this is not Kleiner, or “blue shift” is not canon. Which I prefer that any fanmade part is not canon and have nothing to do with original idea. But because whole series is made up, that's not bad that it's fullfillled with idea from outside “valve”, because whole thing have no sense. Valve took gearbox ideas and so accepted race x in story for to widen the universe and make bigger community, I think. And game was young and they needed ideas. From same thinking, no detail have no sense so you shouldnot waste any moment of life to think about does Glrdon wear helmet, where he stores the ammunition and where rockets of transporter come from. They made up new races of headcrabs in Alyx to make something new. Made up stories have not much for living practical life.

That definitely isn’t Lamarr. I’ve always reckoned it to be just any other headcrab, and he’s just fascinated by it as a scientist. I’ve seen Half Life die hards who’ve played Black Mesa on YT for a let’s play and say it’s Lamarr and I just don’t see it. I think Kleiner would have much more on his mind like…getting the heck out of the facility with his life than having to worry about carrying that headcrab with him WHILE IT’S STILL AGGRESSIVE (Kleiner says Lamarr’s debeaked) and that’s assuming too that a crab lives for 20 years which considering it’s a parasitic organism with one basic function, I doubt they can live very long. Lamarr is much more likely to be a headcrab Kleiner found once he got to City 17 and had the time whilst hiding in his lab from the Combine to experiment with headcrabs to debeak one.
