Breaks my heart he hasn’t been to china yet. Now he is gone... i was hoping to see videos of him going to china once this pandemic is over & just imagine all of the Chinese people shocked and amazed by his talent. It’s so saddening. I miss him so much.

This man is single-handedly the reason why I am perusing English-teaching in South Korea. I came back to his channel after some time to see how he was doing and needless to say I am heartbroken. Rest In Peace Laoshu, you have done more for me than you will ever know.

It’s great that they’re doing well now. But that wasn’t quite my point. You should be proud to tell people where you are from but I’d imagine sadly that some may be hesitant or afraid to say they are from there. Anti-Asian crime has seen a surge since the start of COVID

His twin girls both speak Chinese. They are also half Asian

The smile on their faces when they see he can speak it well is always something so special. They seem confused, then shocked,and then finally just excited to have met a new friend. RIP my man, thanks for inspiring me to pursue a third language.

Yea man learning languages and connecting with others is so beautiful to be open minded and diverse. It’s beautiful how language can bring others together

I’ve been following laoshu for years and I was finally ready to reach out to him to see if he could teach me mandarin. My heart breaks to know he’s no longer with us. This man was amazing. You’ve inspired me so much and I will never forget you 🐭💜

You will be missed so much, Moses. Thank you for being an inspiration and aspiration to many of us.

laoshu you are such an inspiration to me and especially being black you make me feel like its normal to love language learning and that its 100% possible to become fluent in asian langauges. I am and have studied korean japanese and mandarin, with japanese being my strongest suit. i really want to be as fluent as possible in all three because they are all so beautiful to me. Thank you for everything u have shown us on this platform and rest in peace.

I have a feeling that many of the people in these videos watch in tears as their friend in Language is no longer with us . He showed respect to so many . And I feel that when your able to reach people in their native language, they never forget as they were shown a respect rarely seen while they are in America . It’s makes me sad knowing these people are also now sad . A gift is gone . A blessing is now missing . The respect is there for life as a lasting impression in their memories though .
